  The Manufacturing Scientist II for Beckman Coulter Diagnostics is responsible for supporting the daily production needs of a Reagent manufacturing work cell. This includes investigation and resolution of assay failures during in-process/pre/post fill reagent testing, maintenance of bills of materials and material specification changes due to new material qualification or supplier changes, and updating/correcting SOPs in compliance with current quality system standards. There will be opportunities to tackle problems to keep reagents moving through the value stream to serve our customers with high- quality finished goods.

  In this role, you will have the opportunity to:

  Provide technical expertise and direction in multiple manufacturing areas

  Lead multi-department teams to support/resolve non-conforming issues for existing products

  Become an expert in the processes and systems required for immunoassay manufacturing.

  Implement manufacturing and process improvements aimed at performance, quality, and cost.

  Edit and draft manufacturing SOPs and other documentation based on biochemical/technical understanding of common biological laboratory practices (e.g., making buffers, ensuring proper handling of antibody/protein solutions, aseptic technique, etc.).

  ​The essential requirements of the job include:

  Biochemistry, chemistry, or biology (or related field) Bachelor’s degree with 2+ years of industry experience or Master’s/PhD degree with 0-2 years of industrial experience.

  Must have a strong technical understanding of biochemical processes and experience analyzing and interpreting data. Relevant biochemical knowledge and experience including, but not limited to Sandwich/competitive immunoassays, antibody/antigen/protein functional analysis, making buffers and other solutions, designing/performing experiments, and running assays.

  Experience discussing technical concepts with a diverse audience, including experts and non-experts.

  Experience in the manufacture of biologicals or pharmaceuticals is preferred.

  Extensive knowledge with Microsoft applications, including Word, PowerPoint, Excel, and the basic Windows operating system.
