Reference #: 3512-OTHLOC-C6ulYfwDDescriptionThis position is responsible for developing the manufacturing sites' material inventory plans for production that meet the requirements defined in the demand plan. This position will drive the US manufacturing plans by considering all the capacity and costs and delivery requirements. This position will work directly with the Production Scheduling Manager, Plant Manufacturing Material Buyers, Site Master Schedulers, and global operations using the supply plan, and approved suppliers, to drive detailed scheduling and MRP. The Manufacturing Materials Manager will work with the Scheduling, Analytics and Sourcing functions to meet production schedules and manage needed manufacturing material inventories.Essential Duties and Responsibilities:Adhere to approved demand plans developed within the S&OP processSupport S&OP with data and analysisManage inventories according to stocking and manufacturing/distribution network policiesImplement standardized materials management processes to address surplus, distressed, aged, and excessCoordinate new product introduction in supply chain by setting desired business system planning/demand parameters and initial stocking quantitiesIdentify constraints and escalate them to resolutionIncorporate modeling, situation analysis, problem diagnosis, & operations analysis to support business decision making with financial analysisCommunicate site information about plant capacity to all stakeholdersParticipate in cross-functional project and process teams as requiredManage day-to-day operational issues and plant manufacturing material buyersResponsible for compliance to quality systemWork with internal and external resources to fully leverage ERP systems and planning toolsUpdate all key supply chain metrics that relate to master supply planning inclusive of production, inventory, and service performance.Train any key users on system usage and functionality as it applies to their rolesDevelops team members coaching, mentoring, performance management, & developmentLeads continuous improvement and safety culture throughout organizationAbide by company policies and procedures at appropriate levelsOther duties as assignedSupervisory Responsibilities: Manufacturing Material Buyers (Site Level)Qualifications:Must possess strong knowledge of supply planning processes and computerized ERP systems in a manufacturing environmentMust be proficient in use of Microsoft Office suite of products (Excel, Word, Outlook, etc.)Good written and oral communication skills to effectively present information to co-workers and upper managementOrganized, detail-oriented, process centric, and forward planning skills.A high understanding of supply chain principlesAbility to analyze large amounts of dataAbility to deal with complexity and manage ambiguityStrong customer orientation, and sense of ownershipExcellent communication and team building skillsEducation and/or ExperienceMust have 5+ years of supply planning and material buying experienceBachelor's degree in Business, Supply Chain, Logistics, or related field is preferredExperience with a large ERP system (SAP, Oracle, Microsoft Dynamics, etc..) preferredLanguage SkillsMust be capable of speaking, reading, and writing English with excellent written, verbal, and interpersonal skillsMathematical SkillsMust be capable of performing addition, subtraction, multiplication and division calculations.Must be capable of formatting calculations with the use of Excel.Must possess excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.Reasoning AbilityAbility to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization existsAbility to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form.Excellent problem solving skills and the ability to use these skills in support of manufacturingComputer SkillsMust be computer literate and efficient in the use of Microsoft Office programs - requiredMust be capable of using ERP systems - requiredCertificates, Licenses, Registrationsn/aPhysical Demands The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job.
