Come soar with us!The Manufacturing Engineering Co-op will work on cross-functional teams and individually to complete a variety of projects focused on improving safety and quality, reducing cost, and increasing on-time delivery (OTD) in a high precision manufacturing facility. This may include CAD modeling of machine tools and fixtures, implementing productivity improving software, automation and/or robotics research and implementation, fixture design, and data collection, trending, and analysis. This position is full-time, Monday-Friday, and will run May/June to December; it is only eligible for current students with a graduation date past December 2024.may be eligible for relocation.Primary Responsibilities:

  Participate on cross-functional project teamsProvide formal project presentations to managementCommunicate with businesses outside of Collins for various project needsPotential projects include:Process planning and modeling using APPM protocolInvestigate fixture design and impact to process to make recommendations on design improvementsLead projects focused on process improvements and standardizationsModel machine tools and fixtures using CAD from scratch or 2D drawingsImplement and train users on productivity improving software such as DISCUS and VericutImprove, implement, and research automation and/or robotics processes and opportunitiesPreferred Qualifications:

  1 + years of engineering educationSafety orientedFamiliar with CNC machining and programming logic3D modeling experience or courseworkAbility to listen, learn, and communicate with both management and hourly workforce.Ability to take direction and come back with solid results/solutions.Ability to manage daily tasks and meet timelines.Ability to adapt quickly to changes or restructure of priorities.Ability to work both independently and on/with a team.Manufacturing, Aerospace, Materials, or Mechanical Engineering student or closely related major with 2+ of formal education in the fieldCoursework in CNC machining or experience in machine shop environmentHigh competency in 3D modelingHighly competent in CNC machining and programming logicBasic Qualifications:Requires a High School Diploma or equivalent and student must be pursuing a Bachelor's or advanced degree in an applicable discipline.U.S. Person (U.S. citizen, permanent resident, refugee or asylee) or eligible to obtain necessary export authorizations required.Collins Aerospace, a Raytheon Technologies company, is a leader in technologically advanced and intelligent solutions for the global aerospace and defense industry.   Onsite: Employees who are working in Onsite roles will work primarily onsite.
