Job Description
Program Dates : Summer 2024 (May through August 2024)
Time Commitment : Full-time
Format : Fully in-person (Youngsville, NC)
Role Summary
This position will work directly under two manufacturing engineers supporting the Youngsville facility. This individual will be asked to perform time studies, data entry and analysis, create line balancing documents, and establish lean processes. The individual will build communication skills with assemblers and learn how to relay completely new processes effectively. This position will also entail leading an improvement project with minimal direction. The individual will attend daily meetings to understand the wins/losses from the previous day and will be tasked with helping to avoid future misses by understanding and solving problems.
Description of Responsibilities
Participate and train in various continuous improvement activities
Creation and implementation of lean initiatives; including data collection, analyzing information to find countermeasures for improvement, cost saving, time saving and HSE improvements to increase efficiency and eliminate waste
Attend and be present in all meetings
Provide valuable input on projects
Develop action trackers and timelines
Support engineering on projects with documentation and layouts
Responsible for reporting back to leadership on improvements and improvement opportunities
Qualifications and Experience Requirements
Minimum 2.5 GPA
Must be currently enrolled in an accredited college/university pursuing a degree in engineering
Must have reliable transportation to and from work
Basic computer skills in Microsoft Office and Adobe
Ability to plan, organize, and schedule to meet deadlines
Proficient in the use of a variety of measuring equipment
