About the Role:

The cloud platform enables low-latency, high throughput and critical workflows that power Confluent Cloud. This platform enables end to end management, monitoring, elasticity, security and orchestration of the entire cloud ecosystem. We are looking for a senior leader to build parts of this platform footprint, focused on automating our massive rollout and cloud resource management infrastructure. In this role, we are excited for you to drive the vision, lay the roadmap, and build out a high-performing engineering organization.

What You Will Do:

Build a fleet rollout and optimization platform with a regional infrastructure footprint to help scale Confluent Cloud into the new era of streaming data services.

Uplevel and overhaul operational posture and excellence of the cloud infrastructure to support 10x scale.

Build core platform technology pieces that can operate and scale across top three cloud providers - AWS, Azure, GCP.

Design automations, platforms, best practices and tools to enable disaster recovery of data stores, stateful systems and stateless systems.

Partner with senior leadership in RD to drive cultural, technical, people and process improvements in a growing organization.

What You Will Bring:

10+ years of engineering management experience leading productive, collaborative, high-functioning teams in a cloud environment

5+ years developing cloud native infrastructure software at scale

Experience building, managing and running large scale distributed systems in the cloud.

Demonstrated experience in effectively influencing and working with the exec team using effective communication and collaborative techniques.

We analyze and carefully consider several factors when determining compensation, including work history, education, professional experience, and location. This position has an annual estimated salary of $237,510 - $261,270, an annual bonus, and a competitive equity package.
