Job Description

As a Senior Rail Geotechnical Engineer, you will serve as a project manager for the team, focusing on project execution, winning repeat work, building client relationships, developing new clients, and managing key client accounts. You will perform geotechnical engineering design, manage multi-discipline projects, lead project proposal efforts, and carry out your duties with integrity and a drive to succeed. In this role, you will process and review design calculations, develop project scopes and schedules, and travel to project sites for required observations and meetings.

Additionally, you will support marketing and business development efforts, supervise and direct professionals and technical staff, and promote efficiencies in producing quality work. You will ensure high client service by providing constructible designs, meeting deadlines, and creating clear communications with our clients. You will effectively acquire and manage work in a profitable manner, managing multiple projects, staff, travel arrangements, and project budgets simultaneously, with the ability to respond immediately to emergency projects as they arise. This position requires a proactive and dedicated approach to maintaining the efficiency and reliability of the railroads, ensuring their continued contribution to our nation's infrastructure.

You bring to the team:

Strong communication skills

Ability to contribute and work well on a team

Bachelor's Degree in civil/geotechnical engineering

Must be a registered professional engineer with the ability to obtain additional licenses in other states.

10+ years of related Geotechnical analysis, design, and project management experience.

5+ years of managing projects for Class 1 Railroad clients.

Desire to lead an established Rail Geotechnical team.

Ability to obtain required credentials to access railroad and industrial properties.

The ability to work in a constant state of alertness and safe manner.
