  Leads the planning, designing, purchasing, and implementation of changes to the manufacturing equipment and systems while leading and co-leading teams.

  Leads the work for specific projects to create and implement all aspects of a manufacturing processes to ensure safety requirements, manufacturing goals, business goals, and product specifications are met.

  Leads by applying the knowledge or use of manufacturing principles and practices to improve manufacturing equipment and processes.

  Impacts the work by utilizing continuous improvement tools, following the Cummins standards, and leading the development of manufacturing standards and working methods.

  Leads the communications with and influences key external stakeholders, business leaders, and functional members.

  Works with internal and external resources on specific project assignments.

  Leads the advanced knowledge of manufacturing principles and practices as they are applied to Cummins.

  Maintains relationships and coaches' key stakeholders.

  Problem Solving - Solves problems using a systematic analysis process by leveraging industry standard methodologies to create problem traceability and protect the customer; determines the assignable cause; implements robust, data-based solutions; identifies the systemic root causes and recommended actions to prevent problem reoccurrence.

  Controls Engineering Knowledge - Applies the application of controls hardware and software by specifying, reviewing, and approving company-owned and/or supplier designs for new or upgrades to existing equipment to interface with all levels of manufacturing systems.

  Equipment/Capital Procurement - Selects manufacturing equipment which meets the Cummins manufacturing specifications and meets the project or program needs.

  Ergonomic Fundamentals - Understands ergonomic concepts by applying Cummins ergonomic standards, guidelines, controls and tools to reduce ergonomic risk to employees while at work.

  Industrial Engineering Knowledge - Integrates the pillars of industrial engineering techniques by applying a comprehensive and quantitative analysis to available data to be used as decision factors for the development or improvement of manufacturing processes to contribute to the most efficient process.

  Manufacturing Knowledge - Demonstrates the knowledge of manufacturing by correctly implementing changes in current processes, equipment, and applications to meet the function's needs and contribute towards continuous improvement.

  Optimizes work processes - Knowing the most effective and efficient processes to get things done, with a focus on continuous improvement.

  Education, Licenses, Certifications

  College, university, or equivalent degree Preferred.

  This position may require licensing for compliance with export controls or sanctions regulations.

  Experience

  Intermediate level of relevant work experience required.

  Required Qualifications

  Ability to develop or embrace vision and strategies with a passion to win with people-oriented processes as an inspirational leader.

  Excellent written and verbal communication skills.

  Team orientation with the ability to influence others.

  Hands-on preference to work in manufacturing floor area when necessary to resolve issues with all levels of personnel.

  Ability to work in a cross-functional environment, gaining consensus and cooperation.

  Ability to make decisions under pressure and on tight timelines.

  Ability to manage multiple projects, prioritize workload and meet deadlines with a problem-solving mentality.

  Continuous improvement driven with a willingness to adopt new ideas/skills.

  Previous experience with lean manufacturing methods and Toyota Production System based manufacturing.

  Expert user of appropriate office and manufacturing related technologies, CAD literacy a must.

  An undergraduate degree in Manufacturing or Mechanical Engineering is required, advanced degree is a plus. A successful five-year history in heavy manufacturing production environment to include product launch experience.

  Education Details:

  Bachelor's Level Degree (Preferred)Salary range is $84,800 - $127,200. Please note that the salary range provided is a good faith estimate on the applicable range. The final salary offer will be determined after taking into account relevant factors, including Compensation and Benefits
