  General Summary:

  The Operations Manager is responsible for overseeing and managing all aspects of plant operations, ensuring the efficient and effective functioning of plant manufacturing operations. This role encompasses a wide range of responsibilities, including overseeing production processes, managing resources, implementing operational strategies, and maintaining compliance with regulations and safety standards. The Operations Manager plays a critical role in optimizing productivity, driving cost reduction initiatives, and ensuring the highest level of product quality. Additionally, this role requires strong leadership skills to effectively manage and develop a diverse team, foster a culture of continuous improvement, and collaborate with stakeholders both within the plant and across the organization.

  Essential Functions/Responsibility:

  Provides leadership, focus and direction to the Operations Team who are responsible for the daily resolution of production-related problems Collaborates with stakeholders at various levels within the plant, corporate and external partners to ensure effective communication, alignment of objectives and coordination of efforts in support of plant goals. Maximizes efficiencies through the design and implementation of improved manufacturing strategies Establishes and executes the production plan based on sales forecasts and plant capacity. Allocates resources to meet Quality, Safety, Cost, Delivery, Volume, Sustainability and Productivity goals. Develops and maintains budget for Packaging, Processing, and Maintenance cost centers including equipment and labor Benchmarks and establishes performance metrics---collects and reports results Establishes and supports a work environment of Continuous Improvement Manages and incorporates Lean initiatives in product optimization, quality initiatives, quality management and loss reduction. Guides supervisory staff in identifying, setting, and attaining professional and strategic goals Continuous development of personnel at all levels of Operations for succession planning through proper training and guidance. Provides direction and leadership across the organization Ensures sanitation and maintenance programs for building and production equipment are in compliance with Environmental and Regulatory agency requirements. Assures compliance with all federal, state, local and corporate policies, laws and regulations. Responsible for providing to their work team all job related Safety training, and for ensuring team compliance with all safety policies and procedures. Personally complies with all safety policies and procedures. Ensures that all subordinates receive a general orientation, initial training, job specific training and refresher training relative to any materials they may handle in the course of performing their jobs. Responsible for the oversight of employees who are involved in the sampling, unloading, pre-weigh, transfer, and handling, of raw materials. Ensures that an Emergency Response Plan is properly implemented and maintained.

  Educations and Experience:

  Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Engineering, or related technical field. Advanced technical degree or MBA a plus. 3-5 years experience in a fast paced packaging and/or manufacturing environment with a minimum of 7 years supervisory experience. Work experience in consumer product goods, food or OTC pharmaceutical industries is required.

  Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:

  Chemical formula processing, product filling and packaging manufacturing FDA regulations /cGMP manufacturing requirements pertaining to OTC drug products OSHA safety regulations and requirements. Lean Manufacturing and Continuous Improvement (Six Sigma) MS Office Suite Possesses speaking, reading and writing skills and is able to communicate clearly and concisely in multiple media –verbal, written, etc. Possesses a demeanor and attitude that builds positive relationships at all levels of the organization

  Actively participates and is highly efficient when working as a member of a team or as an individual contributor.
