  JOB OVERVIEW

  We are currently seeking a strong Manager of Portfolio Accounting to play a key role in our Client and Portfolio Technology and Operations team (CPTO). The Manager oversees our accounting platform which serves as a foundational data source for our investors, clients, and infrastructure teams who support the firm. This position requires deep analytical skills, with a high diligence, and complex problem-solving skills. We are looking for someone to evolve the function to deliver on the vision of accounting data that can serve our investment teams with the highest value. This individual is expected to function as a player-coach and must be a strong leader with a focus on talent development.

  RESPONSIBILITIES

  Management and oversight of WMC’s global Portfolio Accounting function.

  Ensure proper control and operational environment to support the integrity of the accounting data.

  Develop and implement accounting standards and controls that support the accounting policy

  Provide leadership and education across the firm regarding our accounting capabilities and work to resolve accounting issues experienced by cross-functional users of the data

  Participate in cross-functional working groups to ensure Portfolio Accounting can properly support evolving business needs (e.g., new investment instruments)

  Strong collaboration both within CPTO as well as across Infrastructure, Investment, and Client platforms.

  Build out our internal accounting standards to ensure best support of the internal accounting data.

  Ability to think broadly and strategically.

  Ability to flex between player coach, strategic planning, and coordinate initiatives across multiple teams.

  A proven record of developing talent.

  Interact and collaborate directly with business and technology partners at all levels of the organization.

  QUALIFICATIONS

  Substantial experience in Investment or Fund Accounting, preferably as a people manager.

  Well-developed interpersonal, presentation and communication skills, both verbal and written, including the ability to synthesize multiple complex issues to facilitate decision-making.

  Proven leadership skills.

  Ability to lead and influence in a cross functional environment.

  Experience with Advent Geneva or similar accounting platform a plus.

  Experience with alternative investments (Derivatives, Bank Loans, CLOs).

  CPA, CFA, or MBA a plus.

  Exposure or experience to project management a plus.

  Proficiency with Python and/or PL/SQL a plus.

  Change agent, creative, innovative, and focused on continuous improvement.

  At Wellington Management, our approach to compensation is designed to help us attract, inspire and retain the best talent in our industry. We strive to pay employees fairly and competitively across all levels and roles. Our approach to compensation considers all aspects of total compensation; all employees are eligible to receive salary, variable compensation, and benefits. The base salary range for this position is:

  USD 100,000 - 225,000

  This range takes into account the wide range of factors that are considered when making compensation decisions, including but not limited to skill sets; role; skills and experience; certifications; and education. This range is an estimate, and further details on salary and total compensation aspects will be shared with candidates during the recruitment process.

  Base salary is only one component of Wellington’s total compensation approach. Other rewards may include a discretionary Corporate Bonus and/ or Incentives, if eligible.
