  Job Overview

  TE's Payroll teams prepare, document and disburse payroll checks, payroll taxes and employee benefit payments. They evaluate current systems, and recommend and develop operating efficiency improvements. They also serve as liaison to employees and third party payroll vendors to ensure payroll processing accurately reflects company specific pay policies, monitor and ensure proper documentation of employee benefit payments and deductions and prepare reports illustrating payroll expenditures, including items such as tax payments and benefit plan disbursements.

  The Payroll Manager must be dedicated and industrious, committed to accuracy in all transactions. The successful candidate will co-ordinate, direct and manage all payroll preparation, processing and distribution duties and will provide assistance to both internal and external customers when necessary.

  Job Responsibilities:

  • Manage and guarantee disbursements of multi-state/country payroll.

  • Ensure the processing of new hires, transfers, promotions and terminations is accurate, compliant, and timely within payroll.

  • Ensure on time India Compliance are followed and actioned upon including monthly, quarterly, half yearly and yearly challan filling etc.

  • Supervise payroll staff with a strong focus on growth and development

  • Manage annual Employee Income Tax activities - ensuring document collection, auditing done by vendor and recalculation of income tax, if applicable, and aim for zero employee grievances and escalations.

  • Critically review and analyze current payroll, benefits and tax procedures in order to recommend and implement changes leading to best practice operations.

  • Audit year end declarations/statements, payroll balance sheets, YTD earnings, etc.

  • Communicate actively with Finance, Human Resources, etc. to review cross-departmental impacts and reconcile data sharing.

  • Ensure systems are set-up and updated to reflect our current employee base, including wages, benefits, time-off are in line with contracts and legislations.

  • Manage regular preparation of relevant management reports, including weekly, monthly, quarterly and year-end reports (i.e., gross payroll, hours worked, PTO accrual, tax deductions, benefit deductions, etc.).

  • Oversee compliance with statutory reporting and filing requirements with a heavy focus on SOX audit/compliance. Lead all internal and external audits.

  • Work on improving OU payroll process and continuously strive to work on creating and updating SOPs to ensure functionality is process driven and not people driven.

  • Facilitates audits by providing records and documentation to auditors. Review monthly executive payrolls. Audit compensation, equity, mobility etc. to avoid any amendments or disruptions.

  • Maintains/retains payroll staff by recruiting, selecting, orienting, and training employees.

  Desired Candidate Profile:

  • 12+ years of payroll processing experience. Full understanding of end-to-end payroll process.

  • 5+ years in management/leadership

  • Extensive knowledge of the payroll function including preparation, balancing, internal control, and payroll taxes.

  • An understanding of equity to facilitate frequent audits/reviews

  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.

  • Proficient with different payroll software's

  • Knowledge of accounting principles and practices

  • Proficient in MS Office (especially Excel and PowerPoint)

  • Working experience of local payroll taxes
