Description:
We are seeking an Operational Excellence Manager to become an integral part of our team. The role is responsible for supporting the achievement of Valcor’s goals on Safety, Quality, Delivery, and Cost through the use of Lean Manufacturing methodologies. This position requires a leader that is able to facilitate and drive change in a fast paced and “ever changing” environment, leveraging their strong interpersonal and influencing skills.
Responsibilities:
Coach and assist employees in Operational Excellence, Policy Deployment, and Continuous Improvement activities
Provide education on the pillars as necessary
Provide coaching to the Operational Excellence Team
Identify training needs/gaps with countermeasures
Assist in the alignment of key resources to include engineering and other resources to ensure that we are working on the right priorities
Develop, track and report local progress for the facility Policy Deployment Initiative
Drive a metrics based, data driven culture with a focus on continous improvement
Monitor and analyze metrics to identify trends or opportunities where cost savings, cost avoidance and/or quality improvements can be realized
Train relevant employees in Lean & CI principles, as well as problem solving methodologies
Effectively deploy Lean & CI methods into the organization
Work with Supplier Development team to assist key suppliers with the adoption of Lean Methodologies
Interface with customers to adopt best practices where possible
Implement and embrace a visual workplace to include metrics, 6S, and standard work
Drive a culture of accountability, attention to detail, and strict adherence to the Valcor Personal Guarantee Program and Quality Management Sysem
Required Education and Experience:
Bachelor’s degree in Business Management, Engineering, or other related field of study
5+ years of Operational Excellence/Continuous Improvement/Lean Manufacturing experience
Lean, TPM or Six Sigma certifications preferred, i.e. Black Belt / Green Belt
Project Management experience leading and managing large cross-functional projects
Proficiency in MS Suite, including Word, Excel, Visio and PowerPoint
Experience training and coaching others in problem solving methodologies, Lean, and CI
Experience implementing an Operational Excellence program with Strategy/Policy Deployment
