GENERAL FUNCTION
Vision Associates Opticians are best-in-class opticians working in high energy private ophthalmology offices, providing personalized patient care in a medical setting. An Optician is responsible for all facets of the dispensary while maintaining the highest level of customer service. Ensuring our patients have the best experience is a priority. A successful candidate will be self-motivated, organized and detail-oriented with an ability to multitask while working independently in a fast-paced environment. This position requires a commitment to teamwork and provides a great opportunity to join a growing and successful company. The Optician will be expected to learn and support the policies and procedures necessary for opening, closing, and operating the dispensary.
MAJOR DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Provide a high level of customer/patient service, setting Vision Associates apart from retail opticals
Engage and connect with patients to increase capture rate
Effectively collaborate with all doctors and practice staff on a daily basis to ensure high level partnership for patient care
Foster positive working relationships with the practice, communicating any concerns promptly with the District Manager
Meet and/or exceed pre-established company goals for Sales, Collections, and KPIs
Must perform all responsibilities of an Optician
File patient insurance claims and obtain Explanation of Benefits
Adhere all company guidelines for inventory management
Troubleshoot patient concerns when necessary and immediately respond with appropriate action
Adhere to company and practice policies and procedures that may be specific to that particular office environment, including other tasks that may not be listed
Effectively communicate and recommend visual solutions using Company product portfolio
Ensures accuracy of order entry for all transactions
Accurately and timely completion of daily operational checklists
Complete and accurate time card keeping
BASIC QUALIFICATIONS
Previous experience in the optical industry
State licensure and certifications (where applicable)
Effective interpersonal skills
Excellent problem solving abilities
Insurance pricing and billing experience
Ability to adjust priorities and manage time wisely in a fast-paced environment
Ability to communicate in a clear concise and understandable manner
Availability to work a flexible schedule and the hours necessary to open and/or close.
Willingness to cover other locations within a reasonable distance as determined by District Manager
Strong verbal and written communication skills
Working knowledge of an optical POS system and knowledge of Google Suite a plus
Employee pay is determined by multiple factors, including geography, experience, qualifications, skills and local minimum wage requirements.
