DescriptionPlease note, this position can sit anywhere within the First Merchants footprintPosition Goals:Provide business unit oversight and leadership of compliance with primary federal and state regulations and statutes for the assigned Line of Business (LOB). Work closely with Corporate Risk and Compliance as part of the assigned LOB to ensure compliance of all banking related rules and regulations. Work directly with the necessary parties in the collection and reporting of data for departmental exams and audits.Essential Duties and Responsibilities:Manage staff, includes interview, hire, train and mentor, evaluate performance, recommend salary adjustments and career changes, recommend disciplinary counseling and terminations.Ensure LOB policies and procedures comply with applicable regulatory requirements.Develop and monitor key risk indicators for the assigned LOB.Assist in other areas including product and system testing and development.Provide leadership and subject matter expertise in key laws and regulations for the assigned LOB.Provide leadership of the assigned LOB risk and compliance function.Monitor and analyze developing trends and changes in applicable banking laws and regulations. Provide leadership with the implementation of regulatory changes.Manage training of the assigned LOB administrative and client-facing bankers on compliance-related matters.Maintain a working knowledge of compliance requirements affecting the position and scope of responsibility and actively learn new regulations and assist in the implementation.Prepare annual assigned LOB Enterprise Risk Management Assessment, along with periodic updates.Recommend corrective action for all assigned LOB audit, compliance and loan review findings.Evaluate risk in new and existing assigned LOB products and recommend process changes.Serve as Departmental Records Manager for the assigned LOB.Required Qualifications:Education - Bachelor's degree.Experience - A minimum of five (5) years of related experience.Preferred Qualifications:Experience with Compliance, Risk Management, or Loan Review practices.Equal Opportunity Employer/Protected Veterans/Individuals with DisabilitiesThe contractor will not discharge or in any other manner discriminate against employees or applicants because they have inquired about, discussed, or disclosed their own pay or the pay of another employee or applicant.
