Job Summary and Qualifications
Provides insight into productivity opportunities to the Performance Improvement Labor team through operational and financial analysis. Develops and implements the strategic planning for labor and productivity management for the Behavioral Health service line. Follows company standard processes and utilizes standard tools to ensure consistency across the company. Collaborates with Corporate, Division, and Facility Executives as well as department managers to continually improve productivity results. Participates in the annual budget process and implements productivity changes as needed. This individual must possess excellent technical and analytical skills, experience compiling and distributing reports, knowledge of HCA’s data sources, proven motivational capabilities, and a demonstrated track record of delivering results and attaining goals.
Major Responsibilities:
Assists with identifying productivity opportunities and recommends solutions to the appropriate Corporate, Division, facility, and individuals.
Provides input on the utilization of PLUS and Benchmark; web-based applications used to capture and report statistical values used for managing labor costs based on units of service.
Supports the development of Financial Resiliency activities and performance-tracking efforts
Design reports that communicate performance, identify issues, and contribute to better management decisions including the identification and exploitation of best practices
Continuously monitor productivity performance using recognized tools and software.
Assists with the development, oversight, and improvements to daily operations, policies, systems, and procedures necessary to support cost reduction and system utilization goals.
Extract appropriate data from supporting systems and prepare ad hoc analyses and reports that serve to inform management and improve operations
Assists Behavioral Health team with establishing cost savings targets
Provides training, at the department level, for PLUS, FPC, Facility Scheduler, and Scheduling Excellence tools and report interpretation.
Assists in providing monthly KPIs for review and regular reporting and supports the development of Labor MOR
Assist in the development and training of Behavioral Health teams by assisting divisions with training, educational programs, and resources
Assists Behavioral Health leaders with establishing cost savings targets
Practices and adheres to the “Code of Conduct” philosophy and “Mission and Value Statement.”
Performs other duties as assigned
Qualifications:
Experience and/or skills in report development, reconciliation, and analyzing data across multiple systems
Excellent technical, analytical, and problem-solving skills.
Proficient in Microsoft Office (Excel), SmartView/Essbase (cube reporting), and Business Objects (Ad-hoc reporting)
Excellent communication and presentation skills, both written and verbal.
Bachelor's degree required
Master's degree or relative work experience may substitute for other degrees preferred
5+ years of experience in relevant work required
3+ years of experience in healthcare operations
3+ years of experience in the analytics field, reporting, and/or development
Occasional Travel: The job may require travel from time to time, but not on a regular basis.
