The team you will be a part of
System Integrator - integrates technology/ design/ sub-systems to ensure the system function and form requirements are delivered for the entire product life cycle of our French Door Refrigeration products.
This role in summary
The system integrator will manage the refrigeration projects through our product development process and ensure the product meets all technical requirements are completed on time with the right cost and quality targets. They will be responsible for system level design and manage the technical trade offs of the system. They will also lead technical design reviews for the project to provide a recommendation of whether the product is meeting all the technical and project requirements. To achieve this they will work with our internal process partners like sub system engineers, validation and verification (V&V) engineers, quality engineers and project leaders. They are responsible for driving a full system validation through the use of computer based modeling and physical testing within the various stages of the Whirlpool Product Development process. Also leading the system design failure mode analysis is done with solid technical rigor.
Your responsibilities will include
Collaborate with process partners to collect stakeholder needs for developing cost and quality projects for the French Door refrigerator products which meet the technical and business goals
Develop system requirements by partnering with the system, verification and validation, and sub-system engineers per the Whirlpool Product Development process
Develop technical schedules to drive knowledge gap closures when integrating new and unique features to the refrigerators products.
Scope, manage and approve technical tradeoffs to deliver the requirements of the product.
Lead delivery of the verification and validation test plans which include regulatory requirements, safety requirements and product requirements by using both mathematical and physical approaches with the ability to reuse knowledge for future use
Accountable for engineering bills of material, ensure proper configuration of the refrigerator and meets technical requirements
Drive the development and closure of the system level design failure mode analysis (DFMEA) based on test plans and functional performance stacks
Coach the technical project team which include system, verification and validation, and sub-system engineers throughout the project development process by using various tools like virtual builds, technical design maturity and advance product quality.
Develop or update knowledge documents, special characteristics for high impact requirements, part reuse when appropriate and adjustments to the architecture roadmaps
Support architecture and planning teams through the planning process at Whirlpool to provide scoping input and input into the technical roadmaps.
Minimum requirements
Bachelors in Thermodynamic, Electrical or Mechanical Engineering
7+ years Project Engineering & Technical Design Experience
5+ years of Product Design Development and/or Production Process Development
Preferred skills and experiences
Master’s in Thermodynamics, Electrical or Mechanical Engineering
System Integration & End-End Project Execution experience for New Product Development
Systems thinker with INCOSE ASEP or CSEP Certification*equivalent, can be obtained within role
Work cross-functionally and influence others
