  Job Summary (includes but is not limited to the following; other duties may be assigned)

  Uses professional accounting concepts and internal company policies to solve complex accounting issues including the maintenance of internal controls. Participates in and implements monthly financial close, supervises the assignments of the staff accountants to include general ledger, accounts payable and fixed assets. Prepares monthly management financial reporting package and executive summary schedules. Coordinates and facilitates the process of documenting accounting policies and procedures.

  Manager of Accounting II: Development & Construction Accounting

  The Manager of Accounting role is a key leader within the accounting organization working with their team to ensure the complete and accurate accounting and reporting of complex and significant construction and development projects. The candidate must have a strong background in leading and developing teams in the areas of accounting for projects as well as designing and operating controls and processes. Additionally, the role requires significant experience leading a team in the execution of accounting and reporting tasks and the ability to work across functions within the organization. Primary responsibilities will include:

  Leading team to develop accounting processes and procedures related to accounting for large-scale development and construction projects, including projects with government cost share and or grant reimbursement reporting requirements.

  Experience with government contract accounting and reporting requirements preferred, but not required.

  Financial reporting experience required, specifically related to GAAP accounting and preferable if experience held across in multiple accounting frameworks. Reporting requirements will include both US GAAP reporting for consolidated accounting results as well as stand alone requirements under US GAAP and government related reporting requirements.

  Technical accounting experience preferred as manager will perform and lead team in technical accounting areas including lease accounting, consolidation accounting, impairments, and accounting for joint ventures.

  Experience developing and maintaining controls related to accounting for costs is required, including reporting and tracking nature and eligibility of costs for reimbursement, ensuring completeness of costs and appropriate accuracy of recognition of costs and reporting of activity to management and external third parties, as needed.

  Ability to work independently and show success in leading teams to develop processes and controls to accurately capture and report accounting results.

  Experience managing a team and working in a cross functional format with various different corporate functions.

  Decisions typically related to resources, project approach, and tactical operations.

  Results have significant impact on costs and the achievement of function objectives or project-based goals.

  Makes decisions for large-scale projects, a closely related set of projects, and initiatives involving own and possibly related functional areas.

  Works on problems of diverse scope ranging from moderate to complex.

  May make recommendations on new processes, tools and services; leads team in day-to-day implementation activities of new products, services, and techniques.

  Work Complexity

  Receives assignments in the form of objectives and determines tactical approach, resources, schedules, and goals.

  Works within general guidelines; applies advanced technical knowledge to solve moderately complex problems for a function.

  Leadership

  Manages Accounting Department.

  Regularly manages large-scale projects/activities or a very closely related set of projects/activities.

  Responsible for performance reviews, promotional decisions, and pay actions for support and professional levels.

  Education and Experience

  Bachelor’s Degree in Business Administration, Finance, or Accounting.

  Previous work leadership or senior level contributor experience.

  Requires minimum of 5-10 years in area of specialization, C.P.A. preferred.

  Working understanding of Peoplesoft ERP system and knowledge of BI reporting tools is preferred.
