Summary The selectee for this position will serve as a Management Support Specialist in the Command Services Department (N1) of NAVOCEANO BAY ST LOUIS. Responsibilities You will support multiple Department Directors on management matters related to the department's budget, civilian personnel, position, and organization structures, and other administrative matters. You will serve as the primary liaison with the Human Resources Officer on all matters related to civilian personnel. You will serve as the primary liaison with the Training Department on issues related to employee training and education. You will serve as the primary liaison with the Budget and Resources Department on all budget, travel. You will serve as the departmental point of contact for authoritative information on administrative policies, procedures, and requirements and perform work on the basis of extensive experience with NAVOCEANO organization. You will answer employee and applicant routine questions regarding eligibility, standing, new employee orientation, leave, physical requirements performance management systems, incentive awards and beneficial suggestion programs. You will serve as a Lead Organizational Defense Travel Administrator (ODTA) for supported departments by reviewing Defense Travel System (DTS) submissions for accuracy and completeness, tracking travel-related expenditures withing dept. budgets. Requirements Conditions of Employment Qualifications Your resume must demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the GS-05 grade level or pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector. Specialized experience must demonstrate the following: Experience advising managers on functions such as recruitment, career ladder promotions or employee entitlements and awards. Experience advising managers on a variety of substantive, procedural and policy matters regarding student employment programs, position management, and classification. Experience providing liaison with and technical assistance to HRO personnel assistants to resolve personnel, pay, and leave-related issues and problems. Experience initiating position classification packages. Experience compiling budget requirements and exercising administrative control of Departments functional operating budget and monitoring and analyzing monthly execution of progress. Experience reviewing Travel System submissions. Experience tracking travel-related expenditures within the department's budget.
