WRTI 90.1 FM is seeking a Major Gifts Officer to join our Philanthropy team.
Reporting to the Senior Director of Philanthropy, the Major Gift Officer (MG0) secures funds for WRTI by fulfilling the interests and passions of donors by providing them with compelling and relevant giving opportunities aligned with the station's mission to champion music as a vital cultural resource. This position encourages donors to give, reinforcing their integral role as partners, and WRTI's role in fulfilling their philanthropic values and vision. The MGO assures that as many donors as possible are retained, upgrades their giving, and maximizes their involvement.
Required Education and Experience:Bachelor's degree and at least five years of directly related experience in donor relations, fundraising coordination, and customer service / support. An equivalent combination of directly related experience and education may be considered.Preferred:
*Experience using donor management and/or CRM systems*Public Media ExperienceRequired Skills and Abilities:*A demonstrated passion for music, public media, and the mission of WRTI to champion music as a vital cultural resource*Goal-oriented, creative, and motivated by helping others pursue their passions and interests.*Appreciation for the power of data and metrics to inform strategy and decision-making.*Ability to leverage various communications platforms for donor communication, involvement, and cultivation.*Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to tailor messages to different audiences.*Strong interpersonal skills and ability to build relationships with donors, colleagues, and external partners.*Familiarity with fundraising principles, strategies, and best practices.*Detail-oriented with excellent organizational and time management skills.*Demonstrated success in planning for and completing projects on time, on budget and within scope.*Ability to work collaboratively in a team environment and independently with minimal supervision.*Some travel is required.
