Position: Maintenance Worker
Status: Full-Time
Schedule: Monday – Friday (35 hours weekly), with potential evening and Saturday shifts
Location: Forest Hills, NY, with required travel to other locations

Position Overview:
We are seeking a qualified Maintenance Worker to ensure the cleanliness, safety, and maintenance of QCH’s facilities. Reporting to the Supervisor of Maintenance, this role involves a variety of tasks, from general cleaning to minor electrical, plumbing, and carpentry work. The ideal candidate will be proactive, able to work independently, and committed to maintaining high standards in facility upkeep.
Key Responsibilities:
Work a flexible schedule, Monday-Friday, with potential evening or Saturday shifts as needed.
Open or close facilities according to the assigned schedule.
Perform maintenance tasks including trash removal, sweeping, mopping, dusting, and floor buffing, adhering to OSHA standards.
Clean and maintain furniture, bathrooms, windows, walls, stairwells, lights, and equipment.
Conduct external maintenance tasks, such as litter removal, snow clearing, and addressing hazards.
Support inventory management, including upkeep and stocking of supplies.
Set up and break down rooms for classes, meetings, and events.
Assemble and repair furniture as needed.
Transport materials and supplies to offsite locations.
Report any damage, breakage, malfunctions, or emergencies promptly.
Assist with special janitorial projects, initiatives, and events as required.
Perform other duties as assigned by the supervisor.
Qualifications:
High school diploma or equivalent required; some college coursework or specialized training preferred.
1-2 years of experience in maintenance, custodial, or janitorial work.
Valid New York State Driver’s License with a clean driving record.
Ability to work weekends and operate maintenance machinery (e.g., buffing machines).
Physically capable of handling demanding tasks and lifting up to 50 pounds.
Familiarity with OSHA standards.
Ability to work independently and follow written and oral instructions.
Strong attendance and punctuality, with the ability to meet a flexible schedule.
Eagerness to learn and develop new skills on the job.
