Summary of Role:
GlobalFoundries is looking to hire Summer Intern Equipment/MaintenanceTechnicians to sustain and run the fab floor with primary responsibilityof resolving equipment and process issues. Technician internshippositions are shift positions working a compressed week of 12-hourshifts on days. GlobalFoundries is a 24/7 manufacturing facilityproviding technician support across all shifts.
Essential Responsibilities:
Monitor, control, and qualify 200 mm semiconductor equipmentPerform basic preventive maintenance activities on 200mmsemiconductor equipmentReact to error messages of factory systems and/or equipmentReview Statistical Process Control charts for process quality andreact to Out of Control conditions including defect troubleshootingProcess wafers using defined proceduresPerform visual inspections (quality check)Recover from process and tool interruptionsUnderstand and follow all health, safety, and environmentalprocedures and requirementsIdentify and address potential areas for improvement and optimizetool availability, cycle time, utilization, and cost.Complete all required reporting and documentationActively participate in continuous improvement processes, learningand skills developmentStrong ability to work well with a global teamPerform measurements to characterize the chemical, physical andbiological properties of materialsUse standard software applications (MS Office) and specific programs(Xsite, SiView, SPACE etc.) creating reports and documentingproceduresCompletion of an intern research project throughout 10-12 weeks,coupled with presenting these findings and recommendations to SeniorLeadership through a poster session at end of internship.Other Responsibilities:
Perform all activities in a safe and responsible manner and supportall Environmental, Health, Safety & Security requirements andprograms.Other duties as assigned by manager / supervisor.Required Qualifications:
Pursuit of 2-Year Associate Degree in Engineering and/or TechnicalDiscipline (Mechanical/Electrical). Must be actively enrolled in adegree program at time of internship.Fluency in English Language - both Written & VerbalFluency in Microsoft software applications / basic computerapplicationsPhysical Capacity demands - ability to stand for extended periods oftime, lift up to 30 pounds, ability to wear required PersonalProtective Equipment / cleanroom suit.#InternshipProgramUS
