Position Summary
The purpose and mission of the Marion County Community Corrections Agency is to improve the lives of citizens in Marion County through community supervision, as an alternative to incarceration, utilizing evidence-based practices and comprehensive case management while cultivating a productive, collaborative, and compliant work environment in order for our workforce to meet the needs of the citizens of Indianapolis and Marion County.
This position is responsible for keeping the 350 bed Duvall Residential Center (DRC) building and grounds clean and functional and leads work crews who are residents of DRC in providing cleaning support for DRC, building, grounds, MCCC main office, and other details in the neighborhood as requested. Incumbent in this position is also responsible for accompanying and supervising community service work crews during their assignment in the community, transporting workers to the destination, assigning duties and tasks to individuals, allocating and maintaining equipment, and verifying the exact hours completed by each individual through the maintenance of detailed records. Incumbent requires a moderate amount of independent judgment, but is mainly guided by standard operating procedures. Incumbent in this position is on-call 24-hours a day seven (7) days a week. Position reports to the Maintenance Superintendent.

Position Responsibilities
Performs all necessary preventative maintenance including carpentry, painting, fire extinguishers, security system, smoke detectors, windows, and doors, etc.
Conducts maintenance inspections, repair or replace ceramic tile, doors, windows, drywall, floor tile, thermostats, faucets, commodes, receptacles, switches, belts, motors, light fixtures, cabinets, etc.
General plumbing and electrical work
Install appliances as needed
Ability to read schematics and diagrams
Directly supervises a custodial crew composed of residents who clean and maintain the building; sweep, mop, strip, and wax floors; clean sidewalks, empty trash containers, shovel snow, spread salt on sidewalks, vacuum carpets, and receive deliveries
Supervises work crews engaging in daily community clean-up, maintenance of the adopted bus stop, and multiple community service projects in conjunction with local agencies
This position transports and accompanies crews throughout the completion of the entire assignment
Maintains attendance and participation records of work crews
Verifies all hours completed by individuals assigned to the work crew
Maintains tool control and governs the control and use of all flammables, toxic and caustic materials
Supervises and directs a crew of resident workers responsible for all grounds keeping including landscaping
Oversees maintenance of agency field cars including washing, upkeep, and delivery to repair shops
Coordinates with outside trade’s persons and contractors for trash removal, sprinkler, and fire alarm system
Coordinates with outside trades persons/contractors for emergency services and repairs
Completes report forms in a clear and concise manner
Requests and orders supplies
Maintains an accurate inventory of supplies
Responsible for maintaining all tools and equipment supplied by the county
Responsible for observing and adhering to on-site safety regulations
Responsible for executing a regular maintenance program for the entire facility which will include daily, weekly, monthly, quarterly, semi-annual, and annual maintenance for the building systems

Qualifications
High school diploma or equivalent with two (2) years of maintenance experience and one (1) year of prior experience of working knowledge of electricity, HVAC fundamentals, plumbing and carpentry. Ability to work with others on many levels and create a TEAM environment. Ability to handle multiple tasks and work effectively under stress. Must have excellent oral and written communication skills. Must have experience in dealing effectively with other professionals and the public. Must have and maintain a valid driver’s license.Must have general familiarity of the city.
Preferred Job Requirements and Qualifications
Associates degree in Construction, Architecture, Building Maintenance, or related field with one (1) years of maintenance experience and one (1) year of prior experience of working knowledge of electricity, HVAC fundamentals, plumbing and carpentry. Ability to work with others on many levels and create a TEAM environment. Ability to handle multiple tasks and work effectively under stress. Must have excellent oral and written communication skills. Must have experience in dealing effectively with other professionals and the public. Must have and maintain a valid driver’s license. Must have general familiarity of the city.
