  SUMMARY

  Performs preventive, corrective and predictive maintenance to injection molding machines, automated and manned paint booths, robots, extruder systems, diecasting assembly machines and all associated support equipment, conduct and document water and air quality test, use precision test and measuring equipment. Handles and stores chemicals and industrial lubricants by performing the following duties.

  ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following. Other duties may be assigned.

  Recognized expert sought out by all for technical knowledge.

  Uses knowledge to solve complex technical problems and implement countermeasures.

  Routinely and efficiently uses technical resources of various types to solve complex problems and implement countermeasures.

  Requires no supervision and always products quality work.

  Willing to lead team projects, seeks out additional responsibility.

  Develops and conducts training with all personnel.

  Consistently makes recommendations that withstand critical examination. Always examines available data, possible outcomes and suitable alternatives prior to reaching a conclusion.

  Is knowledgeable in all aspects of basic hand tools and proper use. Is able to accurately take and record measurements with precision measuring devices. Optimizes use of technical manuals and drawings. Fluent in electrical, hydraulic, pneumatic and construction drawing symbols, metals, fasteners, lubricants. Familiar with the operation of machine tools, able to manufacture simple to moderate skill level projects with the drill, mill, lathe, acetylene torch, mig welder, tig welder, arc welder and plasma cutter. Knowledgeable in all aspects of TG Missouri maintenance administration to include: down time reporting, trend analysis, preventive maintenance generation and documentation, parts ordering, spare part storage, maintenance data software, budget allocation and personnel evaluation. Able to train personnel in the use of tools and technical resources.

  Is knowledgeable in the use of the NEC code book, the OSHA safety manual and general shop and electrical safety practices. Able to reference the required safety manuals and train personnel on manual content.

  Is knowledgeable on the proper inspection, removal, installation and alignment and lubrication of bearings, gears, belts and chains. Familiar with structural requirements and materials. Able to train personnel in the proper identification, inspection and repair of mechanical components.

  Is able to troubleshoot and repair complex electrical systems. Fluent in NEC requirements. Able to make complex modifications or extensive new installations requiring various components to include wiring, switches, PLCs, lighting, motors, drives and various control devices.

  Is able to troubleshoot and repair complex electronic systems at a component level. Knowledgeable in AC and DC theory, various PLC programming to include: Omron, Allen Bradley, Siemens, Toshiba, Mitsubishi, Texas Instruments, Bosh, Keba, Yokogawa and Meiki. Trouble shooting and programming knowledge of DC drives: Reliance SC 500, Danfoss, Woods, Omron, Siemens and Allen Bradley. Temperature controller and Thermocouple knowledge required. Fluent in electronic schematics and terminology. Able to train personnel in AC/DC theory and application as well as processor program access and editing.

  Is able to trouble shoot and repair complex hydraulic systems at a component level. Knowledgeable in the operation and repair of various cylinders, valves, accumulators and pumps and the numerous hydraulic fluids used in these systems. Fluent in hydraulic terminology and schematic symbols. Readily applies general hydraulic knowledge to OEM hydraulic systems effectively. Able to train personnel in basic hydraulic theory, trouble shooting and repair.

  Is able to trouble shoot and repair complex pneumatic systems at a component level. Knowledgeable in the operation and repair of various cylinders, valves, accumulators and compressors. Fluent in pneumatic terminology and schematic symbols. Readily applies general pneumatic knowledge to OEM air systems effectively. Able to train personnel in basic pneumatic theory, trouble shooting and repair.

  Is EPA certified in the storage and transfer of industrial refrigerants. Knowledgeable in the operation of various air conditioners, chillers and boilers at a component level. Also knowledgeable in the proper application of various refrigerants and treatment chemicals. Able to train personnel in the basic refrigeration cycle and trouble shooting techniques.

  Is able to trouble shoot the control, injection, hydraulic and pneumatic systems of various injection machines at a component level to include the following manufacturers: Toshiba, Cincinnati, Meiki, Kawaguchi, Gluco, Sato, and Mitsubishi as well as support robots from the following manufacturers: Star, Yushin, Motoman and IAI. Injection machine familiarity required for development of trouble shooting skills needed on other brand name machines. Knowledgeable and able to train personnel in the proper inspection, removal and repair or replacement of machine components, basic machine operation and machine preventive maintenance.

  Is able to trouble shoot the air supply, exhaust, multicolor system, air make up unit, ovens, conveyors and associated robots (specifically Motoman and Fanuc) at a component level. Knowledgeable in HVAC theory and application as well as water treatment methods and chemicals. Familiar with building layout drawings, air monitoring equipment and sheet metal fabrication. Ability to train personnel in preventive maintenance, filter requirements, water chemistry, air balance and multicolor component cleaning and repair.

  Is able to trouble shoot the control, injection, chilled water, hydraulic and pneumatic systems of polyurethane molding at a component level. Knowledgeable and able to train personnel in the proper inspection, removal and repair or replacement of machine components and machine preventive maintenance. Fluent in electrical schematics and Texas Instruments programming. Familiar with Omron and Allen Bradley processing and the operation of the polyurethane press, as well as supporting machinery.

  Is able to trouble shoot the control, injection, hydraulic and pneumatic systems of various injection machines at a component level to include the following manufacturers: Rauch, Buhler and UBE, as well as support robots from Rimrock. Diecasting machine familiarity required for development of trouble shooting skills needed on other brand name machines. Knowledgeable and able to train personnel in the proper inspection, removal and repair or replacement of machine components, basic machine operation and machine preventive maintenance.

  Is able to trouble shoot the control, injection, hydraulic and pneumatic systems of various injection machines at a component level to include the following manufacturers: Krauss Maffie and Davis Standard, as well as the associated haul off conveyors, cooling systems and cutters. Extruder machine familiarity required for development of trouble shooting skills needed on other brand name machines. Knowledgeable and able to train personnel in the proper inspection, removal and repair or replacement of machine components, basic machine operation and machine preventive maintenance.

  Is knowledgeable in the access and manipulation of various plc programs for the following manufacturers: Nitoman, Panasonic, Omron, Zebra and Yokogawa. Familiar with data collection and Uninterrupted power supply systems. Familiar with all machine functions. Able to effectively trouble shoot complex proximity electric systems. Ability to train personnel in preventive maintenance, machine program access and editing, electrical trouble shooting and minor component fabrication.

  EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE

  Bachelor's degree (B. A.) from four-year college or university; or one to two years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.

  LANGUAGE SKILLS

  Ability to read, analyze, and interpret general business periodicals, professional journals, technical procedures, or governmental regulations. Ability to write reports, business correspondence, and procedure manuals. Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from groups of managers, clients, customers, and the general public.

  MATHEMATICAL SKILLS

  Ability to work with mathematical concepts such as probability and statistical inference, and fundamentals of plane and solid geometry and trigonometry. Ability to apply concepts such as fractions, percentages, ratios, and proportions to practical situations.

  REASONING ABILITY

  Ability to apply principles of logical or scientific thinking to a wide range of intellectual and practical problems. Ability to deal with nonverbal symbolism (formulas, scientific equations, graphs, musical notes, etc.,) in its most difficult phases. Ability to deal with a variety of abstract and concrete variables.
