Job Description:
Responsible as the leader of the skilled trades team. This position is a people leader position and will have direct reports. This position will work cross functionally with all of the production teams and support their needs and requirements. Work involves a considerable amount of initiative in decision making and is accompanied by a high level of independent judgment.
As the Maintenance Group Leader, you will be responsible for a small to medium group of maintenance skilled trade employees. You will manage the maintenance and repair of plant equipment and facilities aligned with standard company maintenance systems in addition to the following responsibilities:
You will conduct appropriate checks and tests, and communicate evaluation of results
Recommends solutions to problems
Responsible for preventative maintenance and diagnosis of equipment malfunctions
Meets schedule and quality requirements
Complies with the terms of local and national labor agreements
Implements divisional and corporate policies and safety and good housekeeping practices
Maintain frequent contact and collaboration with others outside of the work group
Responsible for the effective use of personnel, material and equipment
Establishes a course of action to accomplish completion of the job and/or project. Has knowledge and ability to implement company principles

Additional Skills & Qualifications:
Qualifications
Basic Required
• High functional capability with maintenance and repair
Hands-on Machining and Automation experience highly desired• Supervision Experience of skilled trades (electricians, millwrights, pipefitters, tool makers)
• Strong understanding of preventative maintenance in a UAW environment / automotive assembly plant
• Proficient with the Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Access, PowerPoint)
• Strong written and oral communication skills, and problem solving skills
• Ability to manage and prioritize multiple projects, effective project planning in terms of resources, strategies, cost, and time, with ability to meet project timelines
• High level of analytical ability where problems are complex
• Knowledge of work measurement and work standards
• Knowledge of basic manufacturing processes
• Demonstrated technical and professional skills in job-related area required
• Appropriate interpersonal styles and communication methods to work effectively with business partners to meet mutual goals required
• Establishes a course of action to accomplish completion of the job and/or project
• Coordinates input from internal/external customers to better understand customer needs and/or perceptions
• Knowledge of Continuous Improvement Process (CIP)
Education
• Bachelor’s degree in technical field or proven trained (3-5 yrs.) experience in a skilled trade or maintenance leadership role.
