JOB REQUIREMENTS: Job Summary Performs routine janitorial andmaintenance duties on buildings and grounds and other related duties asdirected at a county park. Weekend and second shift work hours are to beexpected. Essential Duties PRIMARY: Performs general buildingmaintenance. Duties include cleaning restroom facilities, washingwindows, floors and walls, emptying litter and other janitorial work,painting buildings and other maintenance as required. SECONDARY:Performs general outdoor maintenance work. Duties include cutting andtrimming trees, cutting grass and bushes, cutting weeds and brush andother outdoor maintenance as required. Maintains landscaping, shrubbery,trees and gardens in assigned areas. Paints sign equipment; maintainspicnic area and campgrounds and related duties. Maintains structures,walks, ponds, etc. Maintains written records and logs. Performs routinemaintenance and related duties on trails. Collects and deposits revenueas necessary, including boat launch and camping revenue. Responds toinquiries, requests and/or complaints from members of the public.Instructs and/or assists volunteers or other assigned personnel inproper work techniques and methods as appropriate. Assists inenforcement of park ordinances and park security. Operates equipmentnecessary in the performance of duties in a safe and appropriate manner.Loads and unloads materials. Performs computer entry for datamanagement. Performs related functions as assigned. ***** OTHEREXPERIENCE AND QUALIFICATIONS: General working knowledge of buildingsand grounds maintenance. General knowledge of basic math and reading.Ability to perform heavy manual labor. Ability to use hand and powertools. Ability to operate trucks, tractors and power equipment. Abilityto work out of doors in a variety of conditions. Ability to followdetailed instructions, which may be oral and/or written. Ability to readand interpret a variety of maps. Ability to communicate effectively bothorally and in writing. Ability to answer inquiries and complaintseffectively with tact and courtesy. Ability to establish and maintainpositive working relationships with staff and the public.
