Position : Maintenance Foreman

General Purpose: Helps repair and maintain company’s machinery to keep production running. Help Maintenance Manager and Maintenance Supervisor in everyday maintenance operations.
Job Duties and Responsibilities:
Assist the Maintenance Supervisor and Maintenance Manager as needed
Mentors maintenance mechanics by providing direction, guidance and training as needed
Train and coach new hires
Provide training for new procedures and/or policies
Complete all preventative maintenance work orders within the allotted time
Assist with everyday/ routine maintenance issues and repairs
Manage, follow up and complete items from pass down meetings
Assign daily jobs, PM’s, and work orders
Maintain, repair, and rebuild mechanical, electrical equipment and machinery
Troubleshoot machinery/equipment and make needed repairs
Monitor boiler, ammonia refrigeration and plant air systems
Make daily rounds and log in data
Verify daily plant utility chemical testing in complete
Communicate with the Purchasing Agent to ensure needed parts are ordered and proper inventories are in place
Electronically completes / verifies time and any materials removed from stock in SAP
Champions LSW, 5S and other Kaizen programs
Drives department employees to complete Dairy U training within the allowable timeframe
Complete required safety observations to improve the health and safety of all team members
Maintain safe working conditions for employees and compliance with all state and federal regulations regarding health and safety issues
Dedicate effort to safety as we expect every employee to leave work in the same condition as they arrive
Follow all DFA good manufacturing practices (GMP) and work in a manner consistent with all corporate regulatory, food safety, quality, and sanitation requirements
Exhibit the values and ethics of Dairy Farmers of America through honesty, discretion, and sound judgment
Adhere to all DFA Quality, Safety and GMP policies and procedures and report any nonconformity
Attend required training, including but not limited to, Safety, GMP, Hazard Analysis and Critical Control Point (HACCP), and Safe Quality Foods (SQF)

Pay
Competitive pay $35.10 to $39.54 per hour based on experience
Rate includes $1.00 shift differential for hours worked between 6 PM and 6 AM

Minimum Requirements:
Education and Experience
High School Diploma or GED required
3+ years in food or manufacturing
Must have own tools necessary to preform most Maintenance Duties
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities
Basic understanding of Boiler and Ammonia Refrigeration systems
Basic electric skills
Has a basic knowledge of welding and metal fabrication and plumbing
Must be able to understand and troubleshoot mechanical equipment and machinery
Must be able to lead team to meet department goals
Must be able to read, write and speak English
