Duties and responsibilities: 1.Directs staff and inmates assigned to theplumbing systems, renovations, repairs and installation, and supervisionof plumbing contractors hired by BCSO as needed. 2.Responsible forordering materials needed for the plumbing division. 3.Provide costestimates for repair and projects involving plumbing work. Helps toprepare specifications documents of plumbing projects required to go outfor bid. 4.Inspect work in progress and at completion to verifyadherence or compliance with specification standards. 5.Prepares reportsas needed to supervisor and others regarding work activities. 6.Utilizeinmate labor on projects when necessary. 7.Responsible for thesupervision, control, custody of inmates in their charge. Monitorsinmate activity, operates departmental equipment, and responds to inmatebehavior patterns. 8.Supervises and monitors Inmate Work Crewsperforming maintenance/cleaning duties in the correctional facilities.9.Responsible for training and instructing inmates in the use of toolsand equipment and/or maintenance/repair practices and procedures.10.Transports inmates in department vehicles to the correctionalfacilities to perform work assignments. 11.Must meet all local and staterequirements pertaining to plumbing standards 12.Design all newconstruction projects 13.Performs janitorial duties as needed14.Maintains proper certifications and licenses. 15.Perform otherrelated duties as designated by the Sheriff.
