Summary:
Primary responsibilities are to maintain electrical operations for the Mill and Packing Departments. The employee will be responsible for the sanitation of their designated areas, will be required to perform maintenance on the equipment as instructed by the supervisor, and perform any other duties as directed by the supervisor.
Pay Range: $28 hr and onward
Primary Duties:
Mill Electrical and Maintenance
Interpret schematics and blueprints at an intermediate level.
Exercise judgement when troubleshooting AC/DC motor controls, PLC, electrical drives, and all high-voltage systems at or below 480 volts.
Maintain milling equipment in efficient and safe operating order. Evaluate equipment performance and recommend repairs or new equipment as required.
Inspect drives, motors, and belts, check fluid levels, replace filters, and perform other maintenance actions, as instructed by manager.
Inspect, operate, and test machinery and equipment in order to diagnose machine malfunctions.
Perform preventive maintenance activities such as lubricating, measuring wear, measuring positions, repositioning components; and observing operations, vibrations, and noise levels.
Perform emergency / break down maintenance as necessary to support plant operations.
Accurately use measurement and test equipment
Perform electrical, mechanical, pneumatic, hydraulic, steam system, and other repairs and installations as needed.
Install wire and conduit for newly installed and existing equipment such as conveyors, programmable controllers, converting and corrugating machinery.
Replace faulty electrical components of machine such as relays, switches, and motors, and position sensing devices such as proximity switch timers, scanners and photo electric devices
Diagnose and repair/replace faulty electronic components such as printed circuit boards
Safely and efficiently troubleshoot mechanical and electrical systems that includes hydraulic, pneumatic, power transmission, and conveyor systems.
Work safely by adhering to all safety rules and company permitting requirements including but not limited to final product zone permits, hot work permits, and confined space permits.
Responsible to adhere to food quality and food safety as per quality standards and/or Safe Quality Food requirements.
Ensure that the Plant Manager and Head Miller are immediately informed of any problems with any plant personnel or equipment which might result in an unsafe condition, efficient operation or reduction of production.
Other Responsibilities
Complete all necessary documents associated with the jobs being performed (work orders, permits, overtime logs, etc.)
Be willing to work within on call night shift rotation shared by team members
Perform other duties as assigned.
Qualifications:
High School Diploma or equivalent experience
Journeyman Electrician License or Maintenance Electrician License
4 years industrial maintenance experience and/or training in industrial electrical work.
Must have knowledge of and willingness to perform mechanical tasks as needed
Possess electrical skills for areas such as wiring PLC, troubleshooting, running conduit and reading wire diagrams
Repair and Maintenance of all types of machinery in the Mill, Packing, Blend plant, and Warehouse
Must be able to operate computer for systems operation and product shipment recording
Ability to read, write, add, subtract, multiply and divide as well as comprehend written and verbal instructions.
Must have proven ability to work in a team environment.
