  Summary About the Position: This is a military technician position with the 99th Readiness Division, Area Maintenance Support Activity (AMSA) 105, Banch Maintenance Activity (BMA), Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania. This position requires an active membership as a Soldier in the Army Reserve before a start date can be set. Responsibilities Maintains, controls, and edits the shop equipment database of supported equipment Responsible for a variety of administrative duties associated with the maintenance and supply of equipment for a maintenance activity Assure equipment maintenance requirements are accomplished in accordance with the Army Maintenance Management System (TAMMS) Conduct training for supported units regarding maintenance and supply procedures Receive work requests, schedule work, and monitor work progress Prepare the shop production control schedule, prepare production control reports, and notify units regarding production delays and expected completion dates Responsible for requisitioning, receiving, issuing and maintaining the accountability of supplies Conduct inventories, requisition for supplies, inspect incoming shipments, and report discrepancies Assist in updating property book records Requirements Conditions of Employment Qualifications Who May Apply: Only applicants who meet one of the employment authority categories below are eligible to apply for this job. Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic; religious; spiritual; community; student; social). You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience. Your resume must clearly describe your relevant experience. Specialized Experience: To qualify based on your experience, your resume must describe at least one year of experience which prepared you to do the work in this job. Specialized experience is defined as: One year of specialized experience which includes work that involves utilizing automated systems to schedule/track repairs or work requests; maintain equipment/supply logs or production control records; receive/issue/stock supplies, tools, or parts; conduct inventories. You will be evaluated on the basis of your level of competency in the following areas: Administration and Management Inventory Management Problem Solving Supply Planning Time in Grade Requirement: Applicants who have held a General Schedule (GS) position within the last 52 weeks must have 52 weeks of Federal service at the next lower grade or equivalent (GS-06). Education Additional Information Male applicants born after December 31, 1959, must complete a Pre-Employment Certification Statement for Selective Service Registration. You will be required to provide proof of U.S. Citizenship. Two year trial/probationary period may be required. Direct deposit of pay is required. Selection is subject to restrictions resulting from Department of Defense referral system for displaced employees. This is a Career Field (CF) Logistict position Multiple positions may be filled from this announcement. Salary includes applicable locality pay. Permanent Change of Station (PCS) allowances may be authorized, subject to the provisions of the Joint Travel Regulations and an agency determination that a PCS move is in the Government Interest.New Army Reserve Military Technicians may be authorized moving expenses to their first official duty station. To be eligible to receive moving expenses, you must be a newly appointed Federal civilian employee or have a minimum of a 3-day break in service from previous Federal civilian employment. This position may be obligated. This position offers a $5,000 recruitment bonus to individuals who are newly appointed. You are considered newly appointed if this is your first appointment as a Federal Government civilian employee or if you have a minimum of a 90 day break in service from a previous Federal civilian position. You may qualify with a break in service of less than 90 days only if your previous Federal civilian appointment was a time-limited or NOT a permanent appointment. Your recruitment bonus will be made in one lump sum of $5,000, after you have entered on duty. This bonus requires a one year service obligation to the Army Reserve Military Technician Program. If you fail to serve the specified period, you may be subject to repay the agency recruitment incentive.
