Mainframe Systems Engineer (CICS)

What does a successful Mainframe Systems Engineer (CICS) do at Fiserv?

In this role, you will provide senior-level CICS/TS technical support (installation, implementation, administration, and maintenance) for all Fiserv IBM mainframe-based CICS/TS solutions supporting the CPS, FRMS, EPAY and Optis platform in the US as well as Issuing, Acquiring, and Payments clients primarily in Argentina. This support includes working and supporting internal and external clients using IBM’s CICS/TS solutions.

What you will do:

Provide enterprise level IBM CICS/TS installations for our mainframe clients

Collaborate with Development, Operations, and other technical teams on new and existing CICS/TS project implementations

Maintain CICS/TS system options for optimum performance and availability

Assist with the development and maintenance of CICS/TS standards and roadmaps

Provide global on-call support

Work with internal and external clients in implementing CICS/TS solutions

Support and participate in Disaster Recovery exercises

Provide dump analysis and problem determination of root causes related to system problems and outages including storage violations.

Work with computer operations to quickly resolve incidents and automate operational processes such as IPLs, Cold Starts, and dump processing

Ensure High Availability and performance objectives are maintained as required by customers and management for operating systems and for software components

Administer using IBM and Independant Software Vendor products

Utilize CICSPlex and CICS Explorer

Utilize JAVA based applications including Liberty Profile.

What you will need to have:

10 years of engineering experience with CICS/TS in a large IBM z/OS Mainframe environment

6+ years of experience with mainframe software installation, maintenance and support

Bachelor's degree in a related field or an equivalent combination of education, military, and work experience

What would be great to have:

Previous experience with z/OS Connect Enterprise Edition or IBM MQ is desirable

Experience using of IBM Assembler and CICS/TS coding
