JOB REQUIREMENTS: Prepares, assemblies, inspects, solders and repairselectronic systems, assemblies, subassemblies, components, and parts forconformance to specifications. Performs inspection of in process andfinished products and reworks printed circuit boards. Assignments forthese duties will be made contingent on successful completion oftraining for each operation. ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIESinclude reading job folders, following production drawings, sampleassemblies, written instructions or verbal instructions to perform thefollowing duties. Other duties may be assigned: Uses various tools tobend and form component leads to appropriate lengths and forms forassembly standards. Performs a variety of pre-assembly duties such asassembling heat sinks to components, cleaning/priming surfaces, adhesivebonding, and labeling and marking. Mounts assembled components, such astransformers, resistors, transistors, and capacitors, and positions andaligns parts in specified relationship to each other in PCB. Soldersleads, joints, and components during the assembly process and duringrework of defective or damaged board assemblies. Identifies andrepositions or moves misaligned, damaged, or missing components orbroken circuitry. Removes excess solder from connections and componentholes and cleans soldering tips with chemical compounds. Examines PCBcircuitry to detect defects such as shorts, breaks, excess or missingsolder, scratches, cracks, and incorrect layout. Examines productiondocuments to ensure all assembly, inspection & testing steps wereperformed according to specifications. Records inspection data such asserial number, type and percent of defects, and rework required.Examines assembly, under a magnifying lamp or other device, to detectdefective or missing components, soldering work, or layout.
