Description
A Gemcor Machine Operator is expected to work in automated fastener machining centers and is responsible for the drilling, fastening and inspecting assemblies to meet customer and quality specifications, as well as revising programing for machine operation.
Responsibilities:
Will be responsible for operation, loading parts, operating controls, deburring, inspection of quality parts, and follow all established processes for conformance to requirements
Follow sequence of operations and set up requirements – under supervision
Achieve Earned Standard Hours Goals and Objectives
Ensure that documentation is completed properly, including but not limited to PCDs, proper clocking in and out of jobs, daily operator checklists, either on Paper or in Syteline
Review, interpret, and program parts in accordance with customer GD&T and purchase order requirements.
Check and monitor parts that are being ran on machine
Follow Orizon’s process and procedures for nonconformance parts
Will be responsible for maintaining proper inventory of tooling and inspection equipment
Perform daily machine checks and maintenance
Monitor equipment malfunctions or out of tolerance machining and report all malfunctions to Cell Leader or other Supervision
Manage time appropriately and respond quickly to all inquiries so that production, quality and delivery schedules are met
Maintains safe and clean work environment; maintaining compliance with established policies and procedures
Participate in and sustain Ultra C-Lean objective.
Qualifications:
Must have excellent verbal, written and listening skills and have the ability to provide written and verbal instructions and present information clearly
Must have demonstrated proficiency with all qualifications, duties, requirements, and responsibilities associated with a Machine Operator
Must be able to read basic G code will be expected
Must have the ability to troubleshoot and problem solve
Must be able to perform machine recovery
Must have knowledge in use of precision measuring instruments and the application of such instruments. Instruments should include but not limited to calipers, ID and OD micrometers, depth gages, indicators andscales.
Must have basic knowledge of tool holders, cutting tools, fixtures, inserts and other accessories used on automated fastening machines.
Must have intermediate understanding in blueprint reading/ geometric tolerance interpretation
Must be able to define problems, collect data, establish facts and draw valid conclusions.
Must demonstrate the ability to understand and work with basic mathematical concepts
Must demonstrate the ability to read, analyze, and follow work instructions and procedure
Must be adaptable to a changing work environment, competing demands and is able to deal with frequent change, delays or unexpected events.
Must be able to work extended hours, overtime, and weekends when necessary to support production and operations activities. Must have the ability to work independently and within a team
Work Environment and Job Functions:
While performing the duties of this job, the employee is frequently exposed to moving mechanical parts and fumes or airborne particles. The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate. Proper safety precautions, including the proper use of Personal Protective Equipment (PPE), must be followed as dictated by the job and working environment.

Effective use a computer keyboard and ability to observe work zones remotely via video display
Must have ability to bend, twist and stretch arms above head and walk or stand for long periods of
Must be able to reach in all directions, handle and manipulate objects and materials
Must be able to coordinate the movement of eyes, hands and fingers to operate machines and equipment
Must have standard visual acuity (correctable by prescription glasses or contacts meets the requirement), including color recognition
Must be able to lift and carry a minimum of 10 lbs. to a maximum of 40
Must have the ability to become proficient and certified, as required, with equipment used to maneuver and store large and/or heavy
Must be able to hear with or without correction
