Machine Operator Number of Openings: 1 Duration: Full Time PermanentShift: First Hours Per Week: 40 Work Hours (From - To): 8am-4pm PayRange: 18-22 Is there a New Hire probation Period? 30 Day JobDescription/Duties: As our Machine Operator, you are responsible forsetting up and operating common machine shop equipment and machine toolssuch as computerized vertical milling machines, Swiss screw machines,lathes, grinders or drill presses. You will machine metallic andnonmetallic work-pieces and produce production parts to requiredtolerances. Responsibilities include: Reads blueprint or job order forproduct specifications such as dimensions and tolerances, and toolinginstructions such as fixtures, feed rates, cutting speeds, depth of cut,and determines sequence of operations. Positions and secures work-piecesin holding device, machine table, chuck, centers, or fixtures. Movescontrols to position tool and work-pieces in relation to each other, andto set specified feeds, speeds, and depth of cut. Observes operation ofmachine and verifies conformance of machined work-pieces tospecifications. Responsible for routine machine maintenance andmaintaining work area in a neat condition. Maintains simple reports onwork-pieces handled and quantities produced. Follows all safety rulesregarding machine operation and proper guarding. Minimum Requirements:High School diploma plus technical school training. One year or morerelated work experience or training, or equivalent combination ofeducation and experience. Ability to add, subtract, multiply and dividein all units of measure including whole numbers, fractions, decimalsPreference will be given to candidates with: One year certificate fromcollege or technical school.
