　　Position Summary:

　　This is a weekend PRN position. The ED PA works collaboratively with ED physicians to provide a wide range of treatment services to all ages of patients and ensure clinical service delivery and patient flow within the umbrella of GHS core customer service values.

　　Qualifications

　　Experience: Prior experience as PA is preferred. Prior experience as ED setting PA preferred.

　　Education: Bachelor of Science Degree in Nursing or other health related field required, Completion of an approved Physician Assistant program required.

　　Licensure/Certification:

　　Current licensure and certification in good standing with the State of South Carolina Board of Medical Examiners.

　　Experienced in the Urgent Care/ED setting providing emergency medicine treatment to all ages of patients highly preferred

　　Other:

　　American Heart Association Healthcare provider course with Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required to be initially completed with the GHS Staff Development Office within 30 calendar days of hire date (exceptions to obtain certification from a provider other than the GHS Staff Development Office are approved by Staff development on a case by case basis). BLS Recertification is required every two years.

　　ACLS preferred

　　Proficient with PC’s and Microsoft Office Software products required.

　　Excellent written and oral communication skills required

　　Personal Transportation and willingness to establish a primary or preferred work location but also float as needed to alternate GHS work location to ensure schedule complete and continuity of services is strongly required.

　　Start time, Stop time and length of shifts will vary depending on volume of cases and will be higher in summer peak months. Estimated that the start and stop times of shifts will be between 10am and 11pm - 7 days a week. Shifts lengths will run, 8, 10 or 12 hours as determined by the team schedule to provide needed coverage with shift lengths expected to be longer in peak summer months. Flexible and self-scheduling will occur with a treatment team to select and cover shifts.

　　While performing the duties of this job, the employee is frequently (activity or condition exists from 1/3 to 2/3 of the time) required to stand, sit, and walk; frequently to use hands, fingers; and frequently to talk or hear. The employee must exert 15 to 20 pounds of force occasionally (activity or condition exists up to 1/3 of the time), and/or 5 to 10 pounds of force frequently, and/or greater than negligible up to 5 pounds of force constantly to move objects.
