　　Description:

　　Under the supervision of a provider, assists and performs a variety of patient care duties and adheres to performance expectations of all defined services or related duties for the clinics of MercyOne Northeast IA.

　　What you will Do:  

　　Assist provider in providing care appropriate to the age-related needs of the patients served based on principles of growth and development.

　　Analyze records for completeness and understanding of patient history.

　　Greet and identifypatient.

　　Prepare patient for exam while protecting patient’s privacy/modesty.

　　Review and document current medication and allergies

　　Take vital signs, obtain chief complaints, history, and documents.

　　Assist provider with routine procedures.

　　Provide patient care as directed by providers (i.e.,immunizations, spirometry, injections, EKG, nebulizer, ear washing, wart removal, etc.

　　Prepare exam/procedure rooms and equipment for patient care.

　　Assist providers with patient care via phone, mail and/or fax.

　　Gather and analyze relevant information provided by patients.

　　Triage calls per established provider protocols.

　　Provide summary of patient needs and/or test results to provider.

　　Communicate information from provider to patient regarding next step(s).

　　High School Diploma or GED.

　　Medical Assistant Diploma or LPN/RN license.

　　6-month experience in aclinicsetting preferred.

　　Intermediate language, intermediate math, intermediate reasoning ability.

　　Basic computer skills required.

　　Ability to work with diverse groups of people.

　　Ability to effectively interact with other health care professionals and the public.

　　Ability to present a positive image.

　　Ability to organize and prioritize tasks.
