GENERAL FUNCTION
The Tax Senior Associate for Income Tax works closely with works closely with the Director, International Tax & Transfer Pricing, Senior Manager of Tax & Transfer Pricing and with other department managers on various federal, state, and international tax matters. They work with the internal tax technology team to improve and transform tax processes through leveraging automation, data analytics, and continuous improvement. They interact with accounting, finance, and tax teams from around the world and must have great communication and follow-up skills. The Tax Senior Associate – Income Tax will work as part of a global tax team responsible for supporting U.S. international tax compliance and tax provision calculations, assisting with tax modeling and restructuring initiatives, and research and documentation of foreign tax positions.
MAJOR DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Lead support for foreign tax compliance, including:
Coordinate and analyze financial inputs from accounting teams
Compute federal and international calculations for with detailed computations to ensure proper tax expense as required under tax reform for the U.S. consolidated tax return
Assist in Coordination of automated input, where possible, of workpaper data with internal tax technology team.
Develop, update, and manage standard tax reporting packages
Assist with tax compliance, including:
Calculate quarterly tax installments and year-end provision calculations;
Complete quarterly reporting requirements to foreign parent;
Assist in Tax cash forecasting for tax payments.
This position will allow the individual to gain experience in multiple disciplines, including:
Federal – assisting with federal tax issues and compliance, including Forms 1120, 1065, 5471, 8858, 5472, 1118, 1042’s, etc.
State – assisting with state tax returns and calculations within an everchanging tax landscape.
Foreign – perform calculations for foreign branches and North American CFC’s.
Assist in Monitoring current tax developments for potential implications to the company. Research and analyze impact of enacted and potential law changes. Prepare memos on relevant both federal and state tax positions.
Assist with basis studies and tax gain/loss calculations associated with legal entity restructurings.
Identify opportunities to streamline tax compliance processes, creating efficiencies through increased standardization and automation
BASIC QUALIFICATIONS
Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting or Tax, or equivalent
3+ years experience in public accounting and/or private industry working primarily in corporate tax with international experience.
Demonstrated experience in tax process improvement initiatives
Core tax systems experience (Corptax, Onesource Tax Provision) and ancillary systems familiarity (SAP, Hyperion, Business Intelligence tools).
Excellent time management, organization, and communication skills
Ability to work with cross functional teams and proactively seek solutions or suggest improvements
Ability to analyze data to use technology in order to gain efficiencies
Self-Motivated, business savvy, integrity and team player. Research and Analytical skills a must
