  Sandhills Care Center is a small nursing home located in the heart of the Sandhills, in Ainsworth, NE.   We are seeking a long-term care professional with a passion for caring for others and a deep interest in long term health care. The ideal candidate will be comfortable communicating with residents, handling physical tasks, and will be acutely aware of the challenges faced by elderly individuals and will seek to provide a safe and comfortable living environment.

  JOB OPPORTUNITIES and WAGES:

  Sandhills Care Center is currently hiringCharge Nurses (LPN )for the following shifts:

  Full/Part Time - Day shift with rotating weekends

  Full/Part Time - Night Shift with rotating weekends

  LPN starting wage of$39.00/hr.

  Shift Differential for nights and weekends

  SKILLS and QUALIFICATIONS

  Must be currently registered/licensed in Nebraska.

  Must maintain an active license in good standing throughout employment.

  CPR certification is preferred but not required.

  Excellent interpersonal skills, including customer service, patience, empathy, and compassion.

  Effective communication skills, including active listening, writing, speaking, and reading comprehension.

  Good collaboration, teamwork, and leadership skills

  Fast and adaptive problem-solving skills

  Keen attention to detail

  In-depth understanding of patient care policies, procedures, and regulations

  Comfortable working with specific populations of patients, including elderly residents and those with specific conditions, disabilities, or special needs.

  Physical strength and stamina

  Familiarity with signs and symptoms of improvement for several medical conditions

  ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

  Must be able to lift, turn, move, position, and transport patients.

  Must exhibit excellent customer service and a positive attitude towards patients.

  Must demonstrate dependable, regular attendance.

  Must be able to communicate and function productively on an interdisciplinary team.

  Must be able to sit, stand, bend, lift, push, pull, stoop, walk, reach, and move intermittently during working hours.

  Must be able to read, write, speak, and understand the English language.

  Must be able to lift 35 lbs. floor to waist, lift 35 lbs. waist to shoulder, lift and carry 35 lbs., and push/pull 35 lbs.

  DUTIES and RESPONSIBILITIES:

  Sandhills Care Center is seeking an experienced, energetic, strong, and dedicated Charge Nurse to assist the DON and ADON in leading the exceptional nursing services that are delivered to our residents daily. The successful candidate will be responsible for providing routine daily nursing care to residents to assure patient safety and attain or maintain the highest practicable physical, mental, and psychosocial well-being of each patient in accordance with all applicable laws, regulations, and care standards.

  INCLUDING, BUT NOT LIMITED TO:

  Observe and record patient behavior.

  Perform physical examinations and diagnostic tests.

  Collect patient health history.

  Counsel and educate patients and their families on treatment plans.

  Administer medication, change wound dressings, and care for other treatment options.

  Read and interpret patient information, making treatment decisions when appropriate.

  Consult with medical providers and follow resident orders.

  Direct and supervise nurses, nursing assistants and aides.

  Research ways to improve healthcare processes and improve patient outcomes.

  Maintain open communication with your Nursing Managers and other team members regarding scheduling, patient assignments, and clinical matters.

  Coordinate with your Nursing Managers to address changes in patient conditio or drug management issues.

  Document all interactions and communication with patients, plan of treatment, assessment, treatments, patient responses/reactions to treatment, status of disease process, and training activities in a timely manner using company issued tools.
