We are offering a contract employment opportunity for a Logistics Specialist based near Moonachie, New Jersey. This role revolves around managing import shipments, enhancing operational efficiency, and ensuring smooth customs clearance. As a part of our team, your task will be to handle our freight function, conduct analysis for logistics-related issues, and work closely with our Customer Service teams.

Responsibilities:

• Manage import shipments from initiation to final destination, ensuring effective coordination with various vendors.

• Handle the freight function, coordinating ocean shipments and ensuring seamless operations.

• Investigate and resolve logistics-related issues, implementing corrective measures to maintain product viability.

• Arrange special shipping when necessary, according to the specific requirements of the situation.

• Drive operational efficiency and cost reduction by implementing process improvement initiatives.

• Supervise the preparation of U.S. Customs import documentation, working in conjunction with a Customs House broker for accurate clearance.

• Work collaboratively with Customer Service teams to identify opportunities, develop strategic account plans, and manage the sourcing pipeline for new products.

Requirements • Demonstrable experience in a customer service role.

• Proven ability to coordinate logistics, with an emphasis on efficiency and cost-effectiveness.

• Familiarity with supply chain logistics, including planning, implementation, and coordination.

• Experience handling export-import documents, with a clear understanding of the necessary procedures and documentation.
