  This is an exempt level position.

  Position Summary:

  Reporting to the Chief Litigation & Regulatory Law Counsel, the Litigation Counsel/Senior Counsel will manage litigation and disputes for the Company.

  Job Responsibilities:

  Oversee a significant litigation docket of active cases

  Handle disputes in a proactive manner and anticipate and mitigate risks to achieve the best result for the company

  Manage government and third-party requests for information

  Manage outside counsel efficiently while maximizing value and develop innovative models to budgeting legal spend

  Report on litigation risk and reserves as part of company’s financial disclosure process

  Counsel on commodities trading regulatory matters

  Job Requirements:

  Illinois licensed attorney with 5+ years’ litigation experience.

  Demonstrated experience handling complex commercial litigation and regulatory matters.

  Outstanding advocacy, presentation, oral and written communication and interpersonal skills.

  Demonstrated ability to build relationships and positively influence outcomes.

  Work independently with general supervision and direction from the Chief Litigation and Regulatory Law Counsel in furtherance of department goals and the strategic plan.

  Ability to work under pressure in a fast-paced and dynamic environment handling multiple competing tasks simultaneously to closure.

  Highly motivated, proactive, self-disciplined and team-oriented.

  The ideal candidate will be a team-oriented, experienced lawyer with a strong complex litigation and litigation management background, preferably with a large global company, top-tier law firm, or government, with experience managing outside counsel, evaluating litigation risk, and setting strategy on a case by case level.

  Broad and deep exposure to commodities regulations and interacting with regulatory agencies (CFTC, CME) preferred.

  This position may be considered a Senior Counsel for the ideal candidate.
