Odyssey Systems invites applications for a Software Test Engineer positionwithin the SZQE Engineering Division at Peterson Air Force Base, ColoradoSprings, CO. As a vital part of the SZQ organization, which plays acrucial role in national missile defense, this position focuses onsupporting scenario generation for various missile warning radars. The roledemands a robust understanding of physics and advanced modeling techniques todevelop realistic and accurate radar system simulations. The ideal candidatewill combine their knowledge of physical principles and modeling expertise toensure that simulations for radar systems are both reliable and reflective ofreal-world scenarios. This position is instrumental in enhancing the fidelityand performance of radar system simulations, aligning with SZQE'scommitment to advancing national missile warning capabilities.
This is a full-time role at Peterson SFB in Colorado Springs, CO.
Responsibilities
Duties include, but not limited to:
Developing Simulation Scenarios in MATLAB: Creating and refining radarsimulation scenarios using MATLAB, ensuring they accurately mimic potentialreal-world conditions.
MATLAB Scripting for Mathematical Methods: Utilizing MATLAB to develop andimplement scripts for sophisticated mathematical methods, enhancing therealism and precision of simulations.
Applying Physics Principles: Employing a solid understanding of physics inconjunction with MATLAB tools to improve the accuracy and effectiveness ofradar system models.
Testing and Validation: Conducting comprehensive testing of MATLAB-basedradar simulations, identifying and correcting discrepancies or inaccuracies.
Collaboration with Technical Teams: Working collaboratively with softwaredevelopers and engineers, integrating MATLAB simulations into the broadersystem testing framework.
Continuous Improvement: Continually refining MATLAB models and scripts basedon new scientific insights, technological advancements, and feedback fromtesting processes.
Documentation of MATLAB Processes: Documenting the MATLAB simulationprocesses, including scenario creation, script development, and testingprocedures.
Analyzing Simulation Data: Analyzing data from MATLAB simulations toevaluate system performance and providing detailed reports and improvementsuggestions.
Problem-Solving in MATLAB Environment: Resolving complex technical issuesencountered in the MATLAB simulation and testing phases.
Qualifications
