As a valued member of the Bucks County Department of Parks and Recreation, a lifeguard assumes a pivotal role in safeguarding the well-being of visitors. Lifeguards are the primary caretakers of the pool and perform maintenance duties and other operational tasks. They report directly to the Pool Manager.
The lifeguard's role encompasses a range of responsibilities, including providing emergency care and treatment, ensuring adherence to all pool rules and regulations, assisting the Pool Manager with daily operations, and performing various maintenance tasks, including cleaning bathrooms and locker rooms. Operating on a schedule of weekends-only from May to mid-June, seven days a week from mid-June to the end of August, and returning to weekends until Labor Day, candidates for the lifeguard position must possess a current Lifeguard Certification, including CPR, AED, and First Aid.
