  Position Type/Expected Hours Of Work - During all swimming activities

  Qualifications - Must be at least 18 years of age

  Relevant Certifications - Required:

  Current certification in American Red Cross Advanced Lifesaving and First Aid

  Current certification in American Red Cross CPR for the Professional Rescuer

  Work Authorization/Security Clearance -Authorized to work in the United States and pass all background clearances.

  Summary/Objective - The Lifeguard is to develop and supervise all waterfront activities, and to create a safe waterfront for campers, under the director of the Aquatics Director.

  Essential Functions - Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform the essential functions.

  Actively supervise participants in the camp’s swimming activities as detailed in the camp’s approved safety plan.

  Shall not be engaged in duties or activities that distract them from the direct supervision of the waterfront.

  Maintain all waterfront equipment, including dock, beach house, boats, and personal flotation devices.

  Ensure all swimming and boating rules are followed.

  Make Buddy Checks every fifteen minutes.

  Follow all DOH regulations for Adult Temporary Residence.

  Be in residence for all emergency situations.

  Be on duty during all waterfront activities.

  Supervisory Responsibility - Anyone using the waterfront

  Travel -As needed by the program.

  Work Environment -This job operates in a professional office environment. This role routinely uses standard office equipment such as computers, phones, photocopiers, filing cabinets and fax machines.

  Physical Demands -The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job. While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to talk or hear. The employee frequently is required to stand; walk; lift; use hands to finger, handle or feel; and reach with hands and arms. Work may require lifting, pushing, or pulling in excess of 30 pounds.
