Job Information
Open to the general public and any current Municipal employee.

This position is represented by the Anchorage Municipal Employee Association (AMEA) and is subject to the provisions of the current agreement between the Municipality of Anchorage and the AMEA.

DEPARTMENT:

Parks and Recreation

HOURS OF WORK:

Hours Vary; Monday thru Saturday 5:00 AM to 9:00 PM

LOCATION OF WORK: West Pool, 1700 Hillcrest Dr., 2909 W. 88th Ave, Dimond Pool

Example of Duties
Ensure the safety of all persons utilizing Municipal pools and provide supervision; communicates information to co-workers, immediate supervisor and public. Provide a wide variety of water safety instruction to children and adults. Responsibilities include performing facility, grounds security and maintenance; performing rescues, assists, first aid, CPR, and functions of Emergency Action/Management Plan. Maintain swimming pool water quality standards and other duties as assigned.
Minimum Qualifications / Substitutions / Preferences
Must possess the following valid certifications to apply:

American Red Cross or equivalent Lifeguard Training at time of hire.

American Red Cross or equivalent First Aid Certification at time of hire.

American Red Cross or equivalent Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation (CPR) for Professional Rescuers at time of hire.
