The salary range indicated in this announcement is based on the Employee/Employer retirement compensation schedule. An employer-only option is available at a reduced salary range. Generally, salaries start at the lowest level of a step 1 and increase with each year of service to the highest level of a step 10.

The Position

Licensed Psychologists provide psychological testing, evaluation, psychotherapy, counseling, and consultation to clients or inmates in residential, inpatient and outpatient settings, at a mental health, intellectual disabilities, or correctional facility, or in other settings where psychological services are provided.

Incumbents possess a degree of knowledge and proficiency sufficient to perform advanced-level work and may provide work direction and training to others. The Aging and Disability Services Division (ADSD) is currently recruiting for a full-time Licensed Psychologist 1 in Carson City. This recruitment may be used to fill current and future vacancies as they occur in the following program: Rural Regional Center (RRC).

Licensed Psychologist 1's are to participate in the Rural Regional Center Review Committee to review applications for services. Incumbents will conduct psychological evaluations to inform eligibility decisions, provide psychological consultations and evaluations to assist in service planning. Incumbents will provide individual psychotherapy and group psychoeducation to persons served by RRC. Provides training to RRC and direct support to professional staff on topics relevant to service delivery. Incumbents will supervise one master's level Mental Health Counselor 2, and participate in work groups and committees, as needed. Providing services requires utilization of online, telehealth technology and travel, including overnight travel, throughout rural Nevada. ADSD provides an atmosphere of innovative thinking, teamwork, friendly co-workers, and provides a positive working environment. The mission of ADSD is to provide leadership and advocacy in the planning, development, and delivery of a high quality, comprehensive support service system across the lifespan to allow all of Nevada's elders, children, and adults with disabilities or special health care needs, to live independent, meaningful, and dignified lives to the greatest extent possible. In order to be qualified, you must meet the following requirements:

Education and Experience (Minimum Qualifications)

One year of post-doctoral experience in providing psychological services in an inpatient, outpatient or residential setting.Special Requirements

Licensed Psychologist I's and Licensed Psychologist II's must possess current licensure as a Psychologist issued by the State of Nevada Board of Psychological Examiners at the time of appointment and maintain licensure as a condition of continuing employment. Some positions require work on evenings, weekends and holidays. A pre-employment criminal history check and fingerprinting are required. Persons offered employment in this position will be required to pay for these items. Requires a valid driver's license or evidence of equivalent mobility at the time of appointment and for continuing employment.The Examination
