  Job Description:

  The LPN, under the direction of a registered nurse, licensed physician, or other specified health care professional, participates in patient care commensurate to Scope of Practice.

  Required

  Graduate of an accredited school of practical nursing program required

  Current/valid Licensed Practical Nurse/Licensed Vocational Nurse from the state licensing board required Basic Life Support (BLS) or Advanced Care Life Support (ACLS) is required If applicable - Must have additional specialty certifications May need IV certification

  Preferred

  One (1) year experience in a clinic or acute hospital nursing setting preferred One (1) year Specialty clinic experience preferred

  Regular attendance to perform work on-site during regularly scheduled business hours or scheduled shifts is required

  Knowledge of basic nursing processes and health care technology, equipment, and supplies. Familiarity with state law on nursing care, nurse practice guidelines, and clinic policies and procedures.

  Ability to communicate effectively with staff and patients.

  Demonstrate sound judgment and composure with the ability to take appropriate action in questionable or emergencies.

  Maintain a positive, caring attitude towards patients.

  Possess a strong work ethic and a high level of professionalism.

  Physical Requirements:

  Ongoing need for employee to see and read information, labels, assess patient needs, operate monitors, identify equipment and supplies.

  Frequent interactions with patient care providers, patients, and visitors that require employee to verbally communicate as well as hear and understand spoken information, alarms, needs, and issues quickly and accurately, particularly during emergency situations.

  Manual dexterity of hands and fingers to manipulate complex and delicate equipment with precision and accuracy. This includes frequent computer use and typing for documenting patient care, accessing needed information, medication preparation, etc.

  Expected to lift and utilize full range of movement to transfer patients. Will also bend to retrieve, lift, and carry supplies and equipment. Typically includes items of varying weights, up to and including heavy items.

  Need to walk and assist with transporting/ambulating patients and obtaining and distributing supplies and equipment. This includes pushing/pulling gurneys and portable equipment, including heavy items. Often required to navigate crowded and busy rooms (full of equipment, power cords on the floor, etc)

  May be expected to stand in a stationary position for an extended period of time.

  The hourly range for this position is listed below. Actual hourly rate dependent upon experience.

  $25.73 - $45.71
