　　Rochester Optical is currently recruiting for an experienced (minimum 1 year) full-time licensed optician and a part-time licensed optician.

　　Position Summary: The Licensed Optician will be responsible for successfully performing customer service, sales and operational tasks, as well as positively contributing to a professional optometry office that delivers excellent patient and customer care. The position will work a 5 day work week with no nights and occasional Saturdays till 1:00 pm.

　　Essential Job Functions:

　　• Deliver exceptional service throughout customers’ shopping and purchasing experience

　　• Ensure accuracy in taking and recording measurements and adjusting and fitting eyewear

　　• Expertly guide customers in selecting frames and lenses that are best suited for their personal style, lifestyle, prescription and price needs

　　• Ensure finished eyewear meets optical standards and customer requirements

　　• Maintain presentation standards both on the sales floor and back office

　　• Process orders in Point of Sale (POS) Software and generate reports

　　• Stay current on product knowledge and fashion trends in order to enhance sales and service

　　Skills & Abilities:

　　• Knowledge of current optical theory and practices

　　• Exceptional retail sales and service skills, including the ability to build a client following

　　• Excellent organization, time-management, solution-finding, communication and interpersonal skills

　　• Comfort using a computer and learning new software

　　• Ability to project a professional image

　　Education & Experience:

　　• High School diploma or its equivalent

　　• New York State License in ophthalmic dispensing

　　• Three or more years’ experience; optical retail environment experience preferred

　　Compensation is $28.00 to $35.00 an hour and commensurate with experience.
