Description

　　We're on the search for a Legal Assistant to help with a short-term project involving data entry of historical data and case information. The ideal candidate will work with discretion, as they will be handling confidential information. This role can start as soon as next week and should last from around 3-6 months.

　　What you get to do every day

　　Preserve computer database input and retrieval

　　Provide credible copies after checking originals

　　Type correspondence and memorandum

　　Locate and retrieve electronic documents from a variety of court and agency web sites

　　Word processing, faxing, and filing

　　Gather documents for photocopying/scanning

　　Be in charge of matter management and record keeping

　　Keep e-documents and files organized

　　Fulfill legal research and investigative tasks, including obtaining information or documents from outside parties, as directed

　　Gather documents and assemble data as directed by lawyers and paralegals

　　Requirements - Organizing and tracking files for important transactions or case documents, including pleadings and voluminous discovery documents; creating and maintaining a case-management database

　　Drafting legal court documents, such as pleadings, motions, affidavits and subpoenas; transactional documents, such as trusts, wills, contracts and real estate leases; and closing documents

　　2+ years of relevant experience

　　Experience assisting lawyers in preparing for transactional closings, depositions, hearings, trials and conferences; completing many administrative tasks, including, working on individual cases or transactions

　　Investigating the factual evidence of a transaction or case and preparing exhibits, charts and diagrams to display information

　　Legal knowledge experience desired

　　Strong familiarity with Testimony

　　Foundational knowledge in Testimony

　　Expertise in Computer Databases

　　Conducting routine discovery
