Overview
ABM is hiring a Leave of Absence Coordinator to serve as main point of contact as it relates to Leave of Absence processes, including serving as a liaison between Team Member, site leadership, Payroll and HR department. This role will manage LOA's for 12 states within the Western Region of the U.S. Bilingual/Spanish is a requirement for this role.
This is a Hybrid Work Arrangement (in-office 3 days/remote-work 2 days)!
Essential Job Functions:
Provide total leave of absence claim management, from first notice and intake to closure, for the company within a designated region.
Obtain and review updated medical evidence of reason for leave upon receipt.
Review guidelines for eligibility resulting in accurate eligibility decisions
Serve as the primary point of contact for phone, emails, and mail communications with employees regarding all leaves of absence and related processes.
Maintain accurate records of employee leaves in full legal compliance.
Oversee integration of leaves (i.e., Workman's compensation with FMLA) and integration with other functions (benefits during LOA, payroll, etc.)
Ensure 100% federal and state compliance in all areas in which we operate
Run weekly reports to track return to work and follow-ups
Maintain and update employee information with HR shared services team.
Complete employer verification requests for States benefit eligibility (i.e., short/long term disability and paid family leave)
Create and send letters and packets to employees detailing leave determination or need for additional documentation.
Coordinates termination letters for employees on leave and in close partnership with with manager, field director and payroll
Maintains confidentiality of employee documentation and files
Skills / Experience:
3+ years' specific experience in leave of absence administration in a high volume, fast paced environment on a national level
In-depth knowledge of Family Medical Leave Act, Military Leaves, PWFA and other applicable federal and state laws, as well as company leave policies
Working knowledge of integration of leaves and benefits
Highly organized and able to think systematically to structure the work and design in a logical flow
Must be a proactive problem solver and team player who is detail oriented and flexible; a self-starter requiring minimal supervision with the ability to support requests from multiple directions
Ability to handle sensitive and confidential matters appropriately
Demonstrated proficiency in MS Office products (Word/Excel), and internet and website navigation required
Demonstrated ability to take initiative, successfully handle, prioritize and organize multiple competing assignments and effectively manage deadlines.
Professional, articulate and able to use good independent judgment and discretion
Outstanding verbal and written communication skills required with the ability to successfully interact at all levels of the organization while functioning as a team player
Prefer previous experience in a multi-location environment and working with remote teams and collectively bargained employees
Ability to foster effective working relationships and build consensus.
Bilingual/Spanish proficiency required.
Pay: $55,000–$70,000
The pay listed is the salary range for this position. Any specific offer will vary based on the successful applicant’s education, experience, skills, abilities, geographic location, and alignment with market data.
