Summary
Provides sophisticated analytical expertise to the delivery of innovative and competitive compensation programs to advance health to serve Michigan and the world. Applies talents in quantitative analysis, data mining and the presentation of data to help inform, influence and support business outcomes. Works with a high degree of autonomy in a fast-paced and evolving environment. This position may be filled at either the senior or lead level depending on qualifications. Reports directly to Compensation Manager.
Remote and hybrid work options available with the required ability to travel to Ann Arbor, Michigan on occasion.

Responsibilities*
Participates in high visibility compensation programs from concept to delivery, including design and modeling, working with cross-functional teams and stakeholders.
Manipulates large data sets to assess the competitiveness of compensation programs.
Collaborates with Compensation Consultants, Leaders, and HR Business Partners to convert compensation insights into actions that support the attraction and retention of the "leaders and bests".
Develops compensation models to drive the right compensation outcomes for all Michigan Medicine employees.
Oversees the administration and utilization of compensation tools and technology, proactively identifying, recommending, and implementing compensation solutions to increase the effectiveness and efficiency of the Compensation Department.
Conducts in-depth market analyses, salary offers, and equity analyses, and completes annual compensation surveys.
Manages the annual compensation planning programs and processes.
Delivers comprehensive analyses leading into each compensation planning cycle and manages compensation tools and
Researches, evaluates, and communicates compensation data trends and insights to assist Leaders in making data-driven decisions.
Leads and supports multiple projects and initiatives including the strategic assessment of
Participates in professional development to maintain and grow compensation capabilities.
Performs other duties as assigned.
Required Qualifications*
EDUCATION : Bachelor's degree
Bachelor's degree in Economics, Mathematics, Psychology, Statistics, Business Administration, Finance, Human Resources, or other fields that use quantitative analysis or equivalent combination of education and relevant experience.EXPERIENCE:
LEAD COMPENSATION ANALYST - Candidates for the lead compensation analyst level must have the following:
At least 8 years of progressive and direct compensation experience, preferably in a large, complex organization.
Comprehensive knowledge of contemporary compensation principles and data analysis
Experience as a compensation technology early adopter.
Expert level experience with Excel and/or VBA, SPSS, Minitab or similar data analysis and business intelligence tools.

This position may be underfilled at the lower classification of Senior Compensation Analyst depending on the qualifications of the selected candidate.
SENIOR COMPENSATION ANALYST - Candidates for the senior compensation analyst level must have the following:
A minimum of 4 years of progressive compensation experience or 3 years of experience with a relevant advanced degree or certified compensation professional certification (CCP).
Comprehensive knowledge of contemporary compensation principles and data analysis
Experience as a compensation technology early adopter.
Experience with Excel, VBA, SPSS, Minitab or similar data analysis and business intelligence tools.
Desired Qualifications*
Compensation experience in a large, complex organization. Experience working with compensation technology. Compensation experience in health care may be helpful.
Knowledge of VBA, especially as it relates to Excel and its object model, or programming/scripting experience. Knowledge in relational databases and SQL

Background Screening
