  Who are we looking for?

  The Lead Technical Recruiter will lead the full cycle recruiting process for technical roles for our award-winning Choice Hotels Technology Center that is revolutionizing hospitality with cloud computing, AWS, big data, machine learning/artificial intelligence, and mobile application development. Choice’s technological roles include all levels of software engineers, test engineers, information security engineers, technical program managers, database administrators and business analysts.

  The Lead Technical recruiter will keep a pulse on tech industry trends in Talent Acquisition and push the boundaries to master new strategies in candidate sourcing. The Lead Technical Recruiter will have strong technical acumen combined with the ability to drive long-term, meaningful relationships with the business, candidates, Talent Management, Total Rewards and Finance to attract, select and hire top talent while keeping diversity, equity and belonging top of mind.

  Your Responsibilities

  Full Life-Cycle Recruiting

  Drive the full cycle recruiting process (sourcing, screening, assessments, interviews, selection, offer negotiation, hire) for Choice's technological roles without the assistance of third-party agencies. Roles include but are not limited to all levels of software engineers, test engineers, information security engineers, technical program managers, database administrators and business analysts.

  Partner with Talent Management, Total Rewards, and Finance to deliver total compensation packages and onboarding that attract top tech talent.

  Maintain an active workload of 15-25 requisitions on average, with a monthly fill rate of 7 requisitions; maintain qualitative and quantitative team KPIs.

  Work on special projects that will allow the team to continue to create efficiencies in processes and adapt new TA strategies.

  Leverage technical acumen to connect with hiring managers and create candidate profiles – see technical experience requirements.

  Work on Talent Acquisition special projects that will allow the team to continue to create efficiencies in processes and adapt new TA strategies.

  Sourcing

  Enhance sourcing strategies through a variety of channels including the use of social media platforms, employee referral program, networking, and unique opportunities/events, building a pipeline of diversified talent.

  Leverage technology – Workday, LinkedIn, Glassdoor, DICE, ZoomInfo, etc. to source and pipeline talent.

  Proactively identify and engage “ready now” and “ready later” talent for pipelining and develop a robust network through ongoing relationships with candidate communities.

  Develop and foster trusted relationships across the organization with technical associate population, hiring managers, and other managers to understand technical recruitment landscape, trends, and sourcing opportunities.

  Innovate strategies for diverse candidate sourcing for active searches and future leadership needs. Add valuable resources and knowledge to support Choice’s dedication to diverse candidate recruitment.

  Consultant & Build Relationships

  Serve as a consultant to technology leaders on matters related to the talent market, talent pools, etc., and use data and market research to support the go to market talent acquisition strategy.

  Understand Choice's domains and the talent needed to drive the business forward.

  Make and nurture relationships with technology leaders through ongoing connections and anticipate and pipeline for their future talent needs.

  Maintain reporting/tracking and use analytical data to identify trends, challenges, and solutions proactively regarding all facets of the hiring process and pipeline creation.

  Evaluate processes and pipelines and make meaningful decisions for success and future scale. Partner with the engineering leaders and HR business partners and collaborate on strategic staffing objectives.

  Partner with the Director of TA to set a long-term strategy aligned with Choice Tech & SkyTouch business hiring objectives.

  Use data to influence efficient process changes, decision-making, and effective recruitment outcomes.

  Ability to be onsite a minimum of 3 days per week to further develop relationships with Tech leadership and associate population.

  External Brand Ambassador

  Have a deep understanding of why Choice is a pioneer, innovator, and revolutionize hospitality technology and attract high potential tech talent through storytelling through the candidate lifecycle.

  Connect the dots for candidates between the technology organization and its impact on the hospitality and franchising business.

  Attend 3-4 recruiting events and/or technology meet-ups a year; maintain contact with high potential candidates.

  Your Experience, Skills & Competencies

  Bachelor’s degree required or equivalent experience is required.

  Minimum 5+ years’ full cycle recruiting technology talent.

  Familiarity and understanding of software development and information systems nomenclature.

  Familiarity with types of development technologies: Java, Messaging Systems, XML, Web Services, JavaScript, HTML, web technologies, scripting languages, etc.

  General understanding of cloud-based technology - i.e Software as a Service (SaaS), and/or Platform as a Service (PaaS) and/or Infrastructure as a Service (IaaS).

  General understanding of the types of cloud technology - i.e. Amazon Web Services, Salesforce.com cloud platform, Microsoft Office 365, Windows Azure, Google App Engine, etc.

  General understanding of the types of developers (front-end versus back-end developers, etc.), skill sets, and talent pools.

  Executive presence with strong communication skills and consultative client focus.

  Ability to influence senior leaders in an advisory/consulting capacity.

  Experience sourcing passive candidates for difficult-to-fill positions with tools such as LinkedIn, resume databases, and networking activities.

  Ability to dealing with ambiguity a must.

  Exceptional judgment decision-making that promotes trust from business partners, peers, and candidates; able to adapt to various situations quickly and with agility.

  Experience with Workday a plus.

  Ability to travel once a quarter.

  Your Team

  This is an individual contributor role that will report to the Director, Talent Acquisition. You will have 5 peer teammates and collaborate with cross functional departments on a regular basis.

  Your Work Location

  Our office is based in our beautiful, state-of-the-art technology hub in Scottsdale, Arizona. In October 2021, Choice opened a newly constructed world class technology center.

  Right now, our associates in Scottsdale, AZ are working in a hybrid environment, up to four days per week in the office and working virtually the remaining days. We provide flexibility and encourage ongoing communication with your leadership to establish expectations about your unique needs.
