The Opportunity:
The Lead Specialist will assume project management responsibilities for major equipment moves, acquisition, decommissions. The Specialist is responsible for determining project schedule by studying project plan and specifications, calculating time requirements and sequencing project elements.
How you will contribute to WestRock:
Maintain project schedule by monitoring project progress, coordinating activities and resolving problems.
Control project plan by reviewing timelines, coordinating deliverables, communicating expectations, implementing changes, identifying and controlling critical paths.
Lead scheduling, planning, and monitoring
Preparing and complete action plans
Resolve problems and implement changes
Meet financial objectives by forecasting requirements
Initiate corrective actions
Maintain project database by entering timely and accurate information and data.
Review quotes from OEMs and contractors
Complete engineering projects by organizing and controlling project elements.
Generate project proposals and plans
Enhance department and organizational reputation by accepting ownership for accomplishing new and different requests.
Maintains safe and clean working environment by enforcing procedures, rules and regulations.
Contributes to team effort.
Up to 10% travel required
What you need to succeed:
Project management experience
Technical degree
Min. 5 years industry experience
Technical understanding of packaging equipment
Documentation skills
Solid verbal communication
Must have high school diploma or G.E.D.
Must have basic computer experience.
Must be willing to work overtime as needed.
Must be able to work independently and use independent judgment.
Must be able to perform all essential functions of this job with or without reasonable accommodation.
